for anybody who can answer...how does the game autoresolve campaign game battles when you don't want to fight? if you change the stats of a unit - will it still 'fight' the same in the autoresolve, or will it behave the same?

when you create new units - is the autoresolve based on a combination of all its different stats or does it use some other method of finding out how 'strong' it is?

and PS - what does the 'base unit strength' in the crusaders_unit_prod11.txt file referr to? is this something to do with it?

I have no idea but I just thought I'd bump up this thread.

I think one way of testing the auto resolving is changing some unit stats radically and see if units now perform better, worse or the same in an autoresolved battle against e.g. spearmen.

Dunno if anyone's ever tried this but try setting the default untit size to 1 man, and have a bunch of guys fight one on one lol. Dont know how this will help you at all, just thought it would be intresting to try.

It adds up all the stats and gives a avarage.
How else could it do it.
Think of all the things you take into account for a battle
and the computer automates it.
There will always be a random factor.
Otherwise the biggest army would always win.
when I say biggest I don't just mean in men.
