Question stems from the fact that often times, it takes about 10 min to kill an enemy AI general (in EB) that is surrounded by a swarm of spear men and cavalry. I don't know if this also happens in RTR (as I've never played it) and do know that traits boost a general's longevity. But unless someone is related to the terminator, that's just utterly unrealistic.

Comparing two different products, whose interpretations of similar aims can sometimes be different, is difficult enough to do at the best of times. To compare the two while giving only one example is impossible.

When confronted with two unrealistic options (as one often does when trying to fit history into the constraints of a pre-existing game engine, it is sometimes only possible to choose the lesser of two evils. The generals is one of these things. To ensure that the rather unrealistic behaviour of suicidal Ai generals doesn't ruin every battle from the off (as it so often can) we have boosted the hitpoints of generals through traits (which is of course unrealistic). However, I hope that you now understand the reasoning behind this.

If you have any questions about EB, then you are more than welcome ask at any time. However this poll is, as history has told us, just going to end up upsetting fans of either or both. If you want to know how realistic RTR is, I suggest that you head over to their website/forums and download their excellent mod. Its well worth it, and you can make up your own mind as to whether you feel it is more realistic than EB or vice versa.

As for the poll. I'll just close it for now, as per our policy on "comparing" mods on our own forums. Feelings can get hurt, and flames thrown so its probably for the best.
