I hope this doesn't belong to the Bug forum, but i don't know. It's just really urgent i get an answer:)

I waited for my guy to become consul, he became even "germanicvs" prior to Consul, and i just got another character who meets the requirements. He got the reformator trait next turn, but now 6 years have passed, and i still got no Marians. I don't even play anymore, i lost half of Asia Minor while just waiting for the reform and nothing happened. A few years ago my Germanicus guy became also consul, and he's a reformator now as well. And still no reform!

Does it really take this long for it to kick in? Or am i missing something? Don't mention the script, the requirements etc... Got it all covered

Please people, help. I can't even go to sleep now, i've been playing EB for 11 hours waiting for the reforms. I'm like a zombie now. Please help:help:

Are you sure you haven't got the reforms? Have you tried destroyed the barracks in a city and rebuilding it?

The Polybian reforms only let you recruit new units after you destroy your old barracks and rebuild them, maybe Marian reforms work the same way?

The script should spawn the new barracks in your towns and set the damage to the Polybian/Camillan barracks to 100%, furthermore should the advisor give you a little speech about how the army has changed recently. If that is not happening in your game you might want to upload your save-game.

And this should happen the same turn? Or is there a procentage on which it may happen any given turn? My game is a bit modded, and i play with BI.exe so i hope you will be able to load the game

here's the save: http://www.filefront.com/15799885/protectorate.sav
I'm playing with a few mini mods- I have all the trait? files from the mini mod pack ( i wanted just the cursus honorum, but perhaps i got sth alse dunno), athanarics ancilliaries, and a few changed skins... that's all i think. Oh and BI.exe of course.

Or should i just change in the script, making the unconditional reforms to happen with 46 provinces? That would solve the problem really, but still it might give me the new units

It really sucks, i almost waited till 107 BC for the reform, decided to have them a 20 years before, and nothing :(

Ok, i changed the requirements, so i got the reforms after all. I forgot about this at first, that's why such a response. But if someone could look why i couldn't get the reform the normal way would be great

Same problem, would appreciate a solution.

I've tried to install the minimod-pack, but it doesn't work, for some reason. Could it be related?

Wut? I didn't make any ancillaries (perhaps I should have, though). Someone else has to take credit for that.

Please get some sleep. Video game addiction (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_addiction) is something I suffer from as well, but trust me when I say it can be cured, even if by taking baby steps. You can do it!

It could be possible that on of these mini-mods causes the reform-script to malfunction.

You can set the reform to your preferences by editing EBBS_SCRIPT.TXT in \EB\Data\scripts\show_me (BACKUP!)
Underneath "Unconditional Player Reforms " you can edit the number of settlements to whatever you want.

Thanks, XSamatan, I'll do that. But if a minimod messes up, that sounds serious. Should be looked into by someone.

I didn't said it will come to problems, I said it maybe will come to problems. ;)
Many people are using mini-mods without problems, but they are still mods of a mod. So there is a risk that something messes up, or doesn't work like meant by the team.

This has to be clear before using a sub-mod in EB.

XSamatan

EDIT: This may sound harsh, all I want to say is, if you mod EB, it is at your own risk, and maybe nobody can help you if it goes wrong.

Oh, not harsh at all. I'm fully aware that messing with files can bring unwanted effects.

Now I'm getting 'access denied' when trying to edit the files. I think I might just end it, re-install, and start over with a clean EB. See if installing in a different place than default helps.

I assume you are using vista or win7? try to open your text editor (preferable notepad ++ or some else freeware, do not use the windows integrated editor) with administrator-rights, this should do the trick in the program files.

Right, the reform kicked in about nine years after the conditions were met. No editing needed. Weird, but hey.
