View Full Version : No Agents Mod for v1.1

Once upon a time that nice CA developer, eat cold steel, made a mod for MTW that got rid of all agents except for Emissaries and Princesses. It was how I played all MTW games and it was wonderful not to have to micromanage dozens and then hundreds of stupid units. Hours saved and provinces with much less clutter on them.

Then came the patch and I have been playing since then with agents again. *sigh* I posted on Nov 7 a request to see if anyone (there was an unsubtle hint to ECS in it) had reapplied the mod to the patched files. I've been away from Internet access since then but I return to find the posting seems to have got lost when the forums were upgraded.

Never mind, I went and redid the Mod myself, with the help of a magic computer spell (the Unix diff command). I seem to have preserved the necessary tabs in the crusaders files: my playtesting is going well. When I'm more confident that I've got it right, in a day or two, I'll see if I can get the Mod put into the download section of the Org. Watch this thread for an announcement, or email me if you can't wait and want a zip file now.

Disclaimer: Eat Cold Steel deserves any credit for the No Agents Mod, since he did the original work. ECS is not responsible for any mistakes in the 1.1 version; they are all mine

At last, I've finished testing the No Agents Mod for v1.1. It is available for download from the Org in the Full Version Direct Download section of Downloads.

Download the file:

NoAgents1_1.zip

unzip and follow the instructions in the README. A set of the Original v1.1 files that you'll be overwriting is included, in case you forget to save the Originals (but you wouldn't do that, would you?).

Enjoy.

Could you help out with the Patrician Mod? (Early Roman)
We need someone who can navigate the Unitprod and BuildProd files. I hate those two files since I only have the default word program for windows. If you are interested send me an email. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the offer King David but I'd better decline. You see, I'm having a problem with MTW: I keep getting the Blue Scream of Death.

This should not be confused with the less dangerous Blue Screen of Death. It is the technical name for what happens when your girlfriend finds you playing MTW at 4am for the third time that week ("but I couldn't sleep; I didn't get up specially to play").
