Ever thought of doing something more creative with watchtowers? Why not change them from watchtowers to "villages?" (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?126943-Watchtowers)This makes them blend into the map easier and increases their RP purpose.
I'm just throwing this out there, though. Personally, this slight modification of EB1.2 made watchtowers much more appealing. Moreover, I think it should fit quite well with the permanent forts that will be utilized in EB2. No longer is there 1 city per region, but rather multiple settlements and a capital.

Sounds like a good idea - checked your pics. They do give a different feel to the map and look much mora natural then a simple watchtower would.
Nice Work!!

I think this would be very cool.
Some questions: will have these villages some defensive role?
For example, if I put an army on this village, can I have some field advantages from defend it?

That's umpossible but PSFs allow it.
Watchtowers as villages = No. Generals didn't go around setting up villages wherever they wanted. Certainly the model can change, but it won't be used to represent villages. Please note that the barbarian strat map model does not represent a village, but instead represents an outpost that sits on top of the hill for good views. They would then light fires (I guess) to warn of any incoming enemy armies.
We will certainly need to change the model for the watchtower in EBII anyway, so we will make something appropriate for the game.

Well, thanks for the reply, Footsie. Aside from the permanent forts, are villages going to be represented in any way whatsoever, perhaps as trade resources of some sort?
