Yes, I just put Alexandrou since he wasn't the most humble man ever and would probably do that in honor of himself.
Yes, that's completly right, only the humblest man would say on his death bed ''There's no place for two suns''... we shall all take lessons of modesty here XD

On the other hand, the successor empires were named after their dynasties partly because there weren't any suitable alternatives. The Ptolemeans didn't call themselves Arche Aegyptus because they weren't Egyptians nor did they intend to limit their empire to Egypt. However, they couldn't call themselves Arche Makedonike either. I therefor suspect that Alexander would have seen his empire as the Macedonian or perhaps Hellenic empire.

The Empire of The Annoying and Arrogant Greek Guy Who Got Really Lucky. (:clown:)
Or maybe something like "Arche Makedonia Alexandrou".

errr... it was Alexander! Before Alexander (and to some extent his father Philip). Makedonia was nothing but a petty kingdom struggling to keep the little it had in therm of --empire-- (in we can say that) and without Alexander it would have stayed like that. Philip ''made'' the pavement of makedonia and Alexander gave it it's glory threw his many victories and conquest.

Exactly my point in my view philip did as much as alexander the great, afterall it was him who reformed the classical phalanax and conquered greece, it was philips origional plan to conquer the known world. Philip equipped macedonia ready for its plunge into persia and india. I dont know i supose its each to their own but as far as i know alexander was a macedonian!
:laugh4:
You have no evidence that it wasn't :snobby:

Actually, as far as I know, Alexander was different monarchs in the same person: he was King (basileus) of the Macedonians, Lord of Asia, shahanshah of Persia, Hegemon of Greece, etc.- but his uniting the rule of these different lands in himself was not the same as making all these lands into one united kingdom: there was not any such political entity as The Alexandrine Kingdom, or whatever you guys are trying to call it. This is one of many reasons why his conquests fragmented when he died: they had nothing to keep them together outside of his army and personality (the former more than the latter).
Don't project modern notions of statehood into an era where they have no meaning.

So that was more or less like the union of British and Scottish crown? (in this case, Makedonian and Persian crown, while they are still technically different nation?)

The Hapsburgs would have been proud

Nah, that was peaceful. Besides, Scotland was for all intents and purposes still an independent state until the Act of Union.

Narsistic Empire of Alexander? :inquistive:
Philip will cry from heaven if he finds out that his son change his proud ancestor's kingdom name into a lame narsistic empire as that... :furious3:
Oh wait.... Alexandros is not Philip's son... he was a bastard son of Dios Olimpios and his mother... :clown:
Maybe he will just stick with Makedonia though, as Antigonids didn't explicitly change their kingdom name into Antigonia.....

I wondered, if the Theos Basileus ton Basileon actually lived, invaded Karchedon, pacified Megas Hellas, burnt Barbaropolis to the ground and kept the Keltoi at bay in the north...
ARCHE MAKEDONIKON, seems too 'small' to be an adequete name....
ALL HAIL MAKEDONIA!!!

But I was pretty sure, if he lives.. invade Kardechoi, Burn Barbarpolis, subjungating Keltoi.... and still had his dynasty in charge until somewhere in X century AD.... We'll have a lot of fun with our interstellar cars now....

Yes and we would probably have a city on Mars....:clown:
We would have as much civil war as the Balkans had after TIto died, then it would have been divided up by Celts and easterners and the world would be weird, and there would be no interstellar car, because there was no rennaissance.
You Romaioktonoi see it as your holy duty to shatter the dream of the perfect Romani, I came to shatter yours about the oh-so wonderful Hellenes. No one is perfect not Romani nor Hellene.
I guess Macedonian Empire, but it would have Persian influence. Alexandros III Megas and his sucessors would also be accompanied with a HUGE title.
Something like:
Megas Alexandros! Basileus of the Makedonikoi, Hegemon of the Grecoi, Septamenramen of the Aigyptoi and Shahanshah of the Persioi.
Although I recall that I read somewhere that he did not assume the title of Shahanshah.

Hehe, let's not start an unintelligent flamewar, the Germanic tribes won in the end:clown: But Alexandros actually adopted a great deal of Persian culture, to the extent of wearing Eastern clothing and pissing his troops off at the same time:laugh4: Also, it is said that he often referred to himself as "King of Asia", probably as a blanket title for Persia, Babylon, e.t.c., but he probably used all the lesser titles just to impress others.
