While i have only tried a few mods, two names stand out in my mind. Paladin and Bohemond have created mods that enhance the game to how i believe it should be played.

while i recently played another promising mod, it crashed my computer despite several attempts to fix it according to the read-me (which was incorrect) and in my own way - i wont mention which one it was cuz i dont want to hurt the authors feelings. I played it for a little while, but soon realized that the gameplay was un-balanced and the buildings and units were way off

im just wondering what mods you all use and if any are historically accurate and worth downloading

Tuff,
I hope you told the author.
This is how the authors can fix their mistakes.
I'm sure we all will continue at some point
to make mods that will crash due to oversight.
I know I do http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I had a funky mod up for a while that crashed the game, but I fixed that. I hope this "other promising mod" wasn't mine. I also had new buildings and units, but I don't know how they could be "off." Oh well. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif

I'm working on a mod, but you won't like it, it's not historically accurate at all. I'm going for a fantasy game, cause like, someone has to http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
