Hello.
Well, I'm a huge, longtime EB fan, and I'm afraid that I now can't get EB to install. I had a very similar problem on two different computers, both of which are Vista. On the old computer, I downloaded EB but the install didn't work; it froze the computer more or less, with a circle running around showing that it was loading for....hours. I was only able to get it working by transferring my EB file from another computer.
Well, I'm in Turkey right now with a different computer, and so I can't transfer files. And so I downloaded it from File Front and..the same thing happened on the new computer. It would ask for permission, and then would not work, and then freeze windows. It got so bad that I had to go in to safe mode and delete it. Then, thinking maybe this had something to do with the Filefront upload, I downloaded it from Atomic Gamer and...the same thing happened.
I'm running a Vista notebook that should be more than capable of running EB. Also a Steam install of Alexander.
This sounds a bit like some kind of security problem, but not totally sure. Have heard that there are some security-related problems with Vista, but if it is crashing my desktop then I am beginning to think it is far worse than that.
Thanks for the help in advance.
