Here is something that have somehow escaped my attention. Almost 10 years a go back in 2001 a whole city with multiple Pyramids were excavated in Peru. The more interesting thing is the city dates back to the times of Egyptian old Kingdom. This means that city cultures started lot more earlier in Americas then previously thought. To me it is quite strange that this is not general knowledge these days. Here is a link to good BBC documentary about the Caral excavations:

There was some great stuff on BBC4 lately on this stuff from some english fella who was of african heritage. Twas a good programme typical of BBC really
