Not by much. Only 5 or 6 hundred separate them in numbers.

The games are 9 and 10 on Steam and seem to be staying there for the last few weeks.

I think it's pretty interesting.
I know personally, I only grabbed Empire because it was on sale on Steam, and I feel it's a pretty mixed bag.
It got glowing reviews, however, where Napoleon's seemed a lot more cautious. That might have something to do with it.

I'm not surprised, ETW isn't as bad as so many say.

I am a bit surprised. Not that ETW is bad. It did get great reviews from the critics but it had a load of problems to get through and there are people out there who have a vendetta with the game.

NTW on the other hand is smooth and polished, the Napoleonic Wars have a huge following, and the players love the game.

Word of mouth is bound to catch up with it soon but it would seem ETW has a good deal of staying power.

ETW did have numerous problems when it was release, but it's been patched several times and is quite better than in the beginning. Some people wan't it perfect and as we all know perfection is impossible. Some people just like to complain I guess. I haven't tried NTW yet, so my opinion of it's popularity vs. ETW might be a litte biased. Saving my pennies for NTW though!

I've found both to work very well on my system. No complaints and the latest patches have only improved 2 already great games!!

I've only just started playing this game.. and I think its a blast! Its certainly different than RTW or MTW2.. since the whole element infantry being mixed between guns and melee makes for a much more complicated battle.. and I'm a loving the canister shot artillery..

Welcome back TheDuck, canister shot can be effective.

I like the play better in NTW. It just lacks the scope of ETW. But it is still a great game.
