I added some of the byzantine units Fenir made to my game, and put all the files in their appropriate folders and when i tried to start the game it said "unknown mount specified" row 27 cloumn 34 LiHorse what does this mean?? i posted this in the "request to community" topic but im to impatient for an answer (its friday and i want my game to work!http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif so any help would be appreciated. thanx

I suspect maybe its the unitproduction file. Try your original unitproduction file and see what happens. Find out what units he tried to add or modify so you can get more spacific. When it yelps at you about rows its the unitproduction file. probably he dint get the right name in there or dint tab it just right. Try installing your original unitprod file to see

Did you replace the alan cavalry, and other units, with the ones in the file?
EG: proniai and kataphr and Alan have all changed.
send me the Crusaders unit prod11 file, if you want I will have a look.

That's a syntax error. I've gotten plenty of those messages when I first tried to edit the Crusader_Unit_Prod11.txt file. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif It probably means that your tab settings are off somewhere, so that where the game engine is looking for "horse" for a mount type it's reading something else and saying "that's not one of the mount types I have listed." After you've restored your original file, then try inserting one unit at a time, then loading the game to see which one is providing the problem and edit that one, making sure that the tab settings are correct (you can do this by comparison with the other entries).

yeah it looks right, apart from leaving a gap between the last entry and the horse and ship entries.
anyway i couldn't find anything else wrong, so i have copied mine over to your sheet and resent it back for you to try.
PS; I know mine works, so your's should now to.
Sorry I can't test it at present as I am playing with my early.txt file.
trying to get the swiss to show up/ or even work as the Romanians.

it keeps saying COLUMN_unit_type unkown unit type encountered: column 2, row 123 AMBUSH
im starting to think it hos nothing to do with the unit prod file, but im not sure...

yo fenir i got it all to work some how, its really cool great job dude and anyone who helped you, what is the kilvinoriois second weapon? because if its mace then they should have a bonus against armour right? anyway im happy...

Yep second weapon is a mace, should have a armour bonus, but i thought they where strong enough as it was.
Giving them armour bonus would make them far to strong.
I did test it out, and redo a copy for you, and sent it.
But if you got it to work, thats all good, just discard my e-mail.
PS: do you know what was wrong?

one problem, i cant see the mace on the klivs or the lances on the pronoiai allegion, its like they have no weapon

Ok thanks ick I will have a play around tonite and see what I can do.
PS; I need to know if you think/what you think of each unit.
EG: are the immortals to strong.
These are all good, as it gives me things to work on. As you would know I can only go so far with my own testing, and helps when others test and give me feed back.

no, the immortals arent too strong, theyre worth the price and the time you spend waiting, one major problem, i cant see the weapons on the kilvs or the pronoiai allegion, no bow, no mace, and no lance. the only time i see a weapon is when the klivs start shooting at something then the bows appear out of nowwhere, also a bonus against armour is needed for the klivs considering how much you pay for them (they get whooped by halberdiers... also hosario are totally messed up, even if they are just standing there they look like horse archers that are trying to shoot, and they keep repeating the same movment, like a broken record player. also, on the backround of the pronoiai allegion picture (the little one when you pick units in custom battle and the campaign) is bright blue. i like the shield though.. anyway its pretty cool and a kataphraktoi/klivinarioi combo rules even though you blow alot of money on them http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
