The guy is almost 18 but is still as nuts as a kitten, I have no idea where he is and I am so worried. This had to happen at some point but I am so sad right now. I want my cat it's my best buddy spend more then half of my life being terrorised by the little prick. gah.

How long has he been gone missing? Cats do that sometimes, leaving your house for more than a week without leaving a message and then coming back with the most innocent expression on their cute little faces.

maybe he goes out to sire some other kittens?

At eighteen? You've clearly never had an old cat. If it can move around without defecating on itself, it's doing great at that age. I think the cognate in human terms would be 80-90 or so.

When we moved house about 10 years ago we lost the cat. We got him back about a month later but he wasn't in good shape. He was about 10 or 11 at the time. We suspect he'd been catching mice and stuff on the fields at the back of the house where we'd lived. He did that a lot. Unfortunatly he probably ended up being poisoned by the mice he ate. Anyway, the upshot is that a month or so after we got him back, we had to have him put to sleep. Always a terrible time for a pet owner.

Hope your cat comes back Frag. What is his name?

He's back, was locked up in the kitchen of the restaurant below me. You wouldn't believe this 18 year old cat by the way, nobody believes me when I tell. edit, called Nero

Strikingly the same story. But with a different end. My cat was also around 10 and ran from our new house. He simply could not bear the change, I believe.

We never found him in the old place. He never returned.

Glad you found your cat. They're so much better than dogs.

Churchill had said that cats are the animals who look down upon humans, as opposed to dogs who look up to us, and pigs who see us as equals (atleast I think it was Churchill).

Great news Frag, I'm pleased that Nero is home again. Is he one of those cats that look like Hitler by any chance? :inquisitive: :laugh4:

I'm glad your cat returned home safely! My cat is also about 18 (his name is poo-poo spanky), I'd be lost and heartbroken if he ever went missing, or god forbid, died! :(

Happy and relieved that Nero is back. They are long hours when the little darlings decide to go missing.

Just so you cat owners know. When you move into a new house you need to keep your cat locked in for at least a week to a fortnight. Usually keep them in a room that wont be used much as you don't want the cat to get out. I don't know why or how this works but thats how we always did it and the one time we didn't do it the cat went missing... Step parent blamed it on me :/

It really depends on the cat. Running away and never coming back is usually a sign of stress (cat's don't like being captured and transported to strange places). What helps is to know what furniture the cat is attached to and making sure that the cat can find it easily. (It will help the cat accepting new environments if they know they can take shelter under/at a save piece of furniture.)

It's good to know the cat was found. Even the older ones can get up and disappear for a while.

Grats on finding you cat Frags. I have had one of my cats for 10 years now, and I could not imagine losing her.
