This makes me sad:

YouTube has recently begun removing videos that feature content from Constantin Films' 2004 film, "Der Untergang" ("Downfall"), despite the fact that many of these videos are parodies and thus constitute fair use of the material.

Truly, it's a shame. So many of these parodies were absolutely brilliant, it's a pity they're suddenly being deleted.

If something's fun or amusing, it must go, it seems.

Here is Hitler's reaction to the Hitler parodies, demanding take downs (probably some language)...

My absolute favorite meme, if nothing else for the endless variations that are possible. Hopefully the loss of Youtube exposure won't hurt it too much.

I'm wondering who is leading Constantin Films' marketing department...must have graduated bottom of his class, or rather not graduated at all.
I'd make an educated guess and say the Hitler meme must have increased sales of Der Untergang/Downfall thanks to the Youtube exposure.

The first time I saw a 'Hitler' video, I laughed harder than I dare I to admit.

That's a shame, the Hilter parodies were hilarious! The EFF board member's response great, it's educational and funny.

I'm not seeing the EFF quote in the linked MSNBC article. Are you referencing something else?

I don't know about parodies, but Downfall was an excellent movie. The ending alone summed up Hitler's existance so brilliantly! (The final seconds anyway)

No, siloetted in darkness in his tomb with that dissapointed, morose look of insanity. I don't feel sorry for him, I just thought it was a fitting ending. To feel pity for his deeds would be insane. I just admire the creativity of the ending sequence.

edit: all alone in eternal darkness to suffer for his transgressions.
