Campaign editor?

ummm, by campaign editor, are we talking MP campaign, like the stuff capefear, elmarko and magyar are doing, or we talking single person? we talking an editor for the campaign map, or for altering the various campaign stats and functions or all of the above?

i believe CA said they werent working on any tools for the player for the game, though that may have been in reference to the patch. you'd have to find the post where that was mentioned.

we have had some player-made tools done, like the bif editor and buf editor and some things that others have found, like ultimate paint and graphx2 for altering images in various file formats. i think magyar made a tool for handling some of his mp campaign stuff and not even sure if we have a logfile reader yet or not. there's prolly a thing or two i've missed here also.

most of the text files can be edited fairly easily in either wordpad or excel. the tricky one that would be very nice to have an editor for is the campaign map. several folks have put effort into altering or making new campaign maps but i'm not sure that anyone has been fully successful yet. i do know barocca was working on this and having some success but not sure he's actually produced a full fledged new campaign map with all the stats altered for it yet.

as for whether or not this is all desirable, yes; it is.

For mi some patron peep made a campaign editor where you could place the buildings on a mini map also units and heirs, i was just wondering if he/she were working on a new one for mtw http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Would be nice as its abit time consuming at the mo changing province owners etc
