View Full Version : Facebook Connect
Can somebody please explain to me what the Facebook Connect feature does? Does it mean my account on here is completely unnecessary, needs to be deleted, and I should sign in using my Facebook account? Thanks in advance.

It posts everything you do on your wall... like youtube's connect or something like that... everything you post is posted on your wall, it's complementary but you DO need the org account.

Like Ludens said in another thread - EB team does not administrate the Org! Any questions about the forum you should ask in the Watchtower! I mean, it's not that hard to get out of the EB subforum and check other places in the Org as well!

Hello,
The board developers are looking to integrate their product with big social networks. For now it's just Facebook and it still seems to be basic.
No, your account here is not useless. It does allow to (optionally!) tie your account here with Facebook. Of course, you'ld have to question yourself whether you want that. Your Facebook account can be about your real identity, while you have an alter ego here and want to keep them separated.
Well yes, I'm not really Husar. ~;)
But when you say it posts everything I do here on my wall, I wonder what people on Facebook want with 8000 of my forum posts completely out of context?
I don't even think they would want them in context so it seems really useless.

That is my thinking as well. My puns would be punless without the context of other quotes and I'd seem dumber than I already appear.
Facebook gets its own puns specially tailored to it:
A 16 year old's Facebook status: Is it weird that I like Tom Jones?
My reply: It's not unusual...

Stop being a gimp and actually type properly. Its rude to the readers in the forum. And its confusing especially when you switch between perfect english and then retadlish in the next sentence.

my real-life me is a very differnt thing from my various virtual me's, and I am very keen to keep it that way.

In the real-world, me and Furunculus are the best of friends, and we regularly agree on ideology down at the local pub.
He is a really nice guy, charming missus as well.
It's good to know you're not a conservative in real-life, Furunculus.
I also have a gripe with this virtual thin gwe have here, everytime I visit the forum as virtual me, real me loses real time, isn't there some option so that when I log in I use up only virtual time reading the forums? That would make real-life a lot easier.
