I'm usually too shy to approach a celebrity for such things, so the few I have were at signings (with short lines). However I do have Patrick Gorman's (played General Hood in Gettysburg) picture and autograph at a Gettysburg reenactment. I have a boxed set of Killer Angels/Gods & Generals/Last Full Measure books signed by Jeff Shaara also at Gettysburg and I may have Patrick Falci's (AP Hill/historical advisor to the film) picture/autograph somewhere. I have a picture of my kids with Brian Mallon (General Hancock) at another Gettysburg reenactment.

In the non-Gettysburg area :laugh4:, I was given an autographed picture of Richard Petty (NASCAR legend). I think that is it.

Despite those, I'm really not much for collecting such things.

I've got a signed Born to Run CD by Springsteen. :smug:

Got it after a concert. Oh, and I've got Donald Duck too, which I got at Disneyland. :jumping:

Other than that, I leave celebrities well alone when encountered in the wild. Must be awful for them to be pestered for pictures and autographs all the time.

Celebrities are people, its those that ask for autographs and obsess about them that make them want to never see a member of the public ever again.

I have only a few...I don´t really care about the autographs them selfs...it's more about being able to talk to the person for a couple of minutes.
also, all of these I got at events where these people were expecting to meet people and give out autographs, if I just ran across someone on the street I don´t think I would bother them.

Danko Jones -- Coolest celebrity I have ever met, got to talk with him twice after the last 2 concerts of his band here in Lisbon, have an autographed CD and a photo of me with him.
Kurt Angle ->Olympic Gold Medal Winner / Professional Wrestler - Got to meet him at a TNA Wrestling event here in Lisbon
Samoa Joe ( aka Nuufolau Joel "Joe" Seanoa) -> Professional Wrestler - same as above
João Garcia - Famous Portuguese Climber - the guy's climbed Everest
José Rodrigues dos Santos - Portuguese Journalist and author
David Fonseca - Portuguese musician
Anastasia Mayo - Spanish Pornstar - have met her in 2 separate occasions, have 2 autographs and a photo taken with her.

I once got autographs from this fantastic artist, a year or two ago, Paul Severs.

One on my left arm, one on my right arm, one on my chest. For unclear reasons, I got chased away when I asked him to put a fourth autograph on my belly.

I was not "slightly drunk" at the time...

Anyway, here's a clip from years ago with his most famous number, which you all probably know by heart:

Yeah. Besides, most of them are of common stock, anyways; nothing great about 'em, not like me.

Want my autograph?

The best most important one I get is from the guy who signs my paycheck every two weeks. Thomas P. DiNapoli State Comptroller of New York.

I could have gotten autographs from a bucketload of Portuguese National football players and Porto players.

I didn't as I find the act of getting an autograph one of the dumbest things ever. I mean, if you're asking for them to sign and dedicate something to you/or a familly member (Like a book they wrote/a ball/etc), but just waiting by the sidelines and asking them to scribble a random paper with ink is just...weird.

I'm getting megas autograph now so that when he goes on a murderous rebellion against the Canadian government trying to retake his ancestral lands and after the customary bestseller and Hollywood hit is made I can sell it for lots of wampum and colored beads :clown:

Sorry metastasis I don't know many native Americans so all these jokes go to waste your so gosh darn convenient since you identify so strongly with it

Mostly novel authors here. Some signed Gene Wolfe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Wolfe), Orson Scott Card (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orson_Scott_Card) (from back when he was good), Lois Bujold (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lois_Bujold). Also everything ever written by Sylvia Kelso (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sylvia_Kelso), since she's kind of a buddy.

I also used to carry around a volume of Nietzsche which I would make mildly famous people sign for no other reason than it made them freak out.

Olivia Munn is sorta hot, though. But not really.

When you see a woman on tv, she looks hotter than she really is.

I actually was lucky enough to get an autograph and take the picture of the former Gov of Alaska herself, Ms. Sarah Pailn. I know, I know, not everyone likes her, but she was actually really nice.

It happened last year a few weeks after she had resigned as Gov. My nephew and I were driving from Prince Rupert British Columbia to Anchorage Alaska and we decided to stop at the beach where the Exon Valdez had ran aground in the 80's. It was not very nice weather and we got down to the beach parking lot and I was like "whoa!" -SP was just walking back to the parking lot from the beach and there was just one member of her entourage with her, there was basically no one else around. I was pretty surprised to say the least.

I went up and said hello and she noticed from our license plate that we were from Canada and we talked for a few minutes, like neighbours I guess... After a bit I asked if I could get her autograph and take her picture with my nephew. I think she hesitated at first because she had on jeans and a windbreaker and the wind was kind of blowing her hair around, but eventually she agreed to the picture.

Again, I know, not every one likes her, but I found her to be very gratious and nice; it was definitely cool to meet her! Here's the pic of her and my nephew. (http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v112/240/49/632172790/n632172790_292793_4372.jpg)

My apologies, I was tryin to get comical, not political.

Come to think of it, although I have a funny-bone, I don't have a political-bone in my whole body. I just chose the name at random, and didn't really think it through in terms of frontroom policy. The next time I wanna make a joke I'll play it safe and pick someone like Tila Tequila or Lilo instead. Sorry if I offended anyone, I hope it drew a few laughs; as always, comedy's my sole intention. :)
