Following the military theme...

And for actually showing a successful German armored assault, this one gets an A+ despite some inaccuracies.

All good, PJ. I've seen all of those. Stalingrad was great.
I got a question, how did the Afghan terrorist guy in Hurt Locker hit the barrett sniper without even having a scope on his AK-47 looking weapon?
Because if that is how they do it, no wonder the Allies have trouble there.

The vastness of Australia is the real star in this awesome movie. It's a descent into madness like Apocalyps Now.
Keep trying to find a good video of the introduction of Jesus in Big Lebowski, but I'm not having much luck. This is the best I've found so far:

One of the greatest scenes in Lord of the Rings.
The music over this segment is perfect.
I enjoyed the Stalingrad video. It's nice to see the Germans represented as soldiers for a change. (all politics aside)

Sad movie.

"I could have got more"
The music over this segment is perfect.
Indeed. Jackson mastered the mesh between music audio and the situation in the movie.
Another brilliant example of that:

0:45 The horn sound comes off condensed as the characters/camera/viewer is still inside the tower, but once the camera goes into the outside balcony, the horn sound disperses into it's surroundings, which coupled with Orc divisions as far as the eye can see, gives off a nice powerful effect.
1:05 Also an awesome cue to start the evil conquering music.
Simply brilliant. Editting of the highest quality.
The Nazi regime was abhorent. It's a shame they perverted nationalism like that.

My Summer of Love.
The film explores the relationship between two young women of different classes and family backgrounds. Great roles by both lead actresses. All set in mysterious and exotic Yorkshire!!
Love, zest and deceit - three of the movie's themes in this scene:

This is one of my favourites: (Zulu)
I don't know what possessed me to do it this time, but I counted the volleys; 18. Manned by what looks to be 12-man ranks, that makes over 200 chunks of lead launched downrange in less than 12 seconds. Quite a barrage.

Obvious spoiler for the movie, but I really like Pan's Labyrinth.

And, of course, St. Crispin's day speech:

And, a bit overdramatic on some of the bullet wounds, but a personal favorite nonetheless:

My two favorite heist scenes, at completely different ends of the spectrum:
The bank robbery scene in Heat (spoilered, some swearing at the start)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZL9fnVtz_lc
The diaper robbery scene in Raising Arizona (spoilered, Holly Hunter has a bit of a potty mouth)

For those with the stomach for it, below the 1928 'The Passion of Joan of Arc'.
Jeanne: 'In France, I'm called Jeanne....In my land, I'm called Jeannette'*
Inquisitor: 'How old are you?'
Jeanne looks confused, counts on her fingers, 'I'm nineteen...I think'
Inquisitor: 'Do you know the Our Father?'
Jeanne, silent but her lips are seen to say 'Oui'
Inquisitor: 'Who taught it to you?'
Jeanne is silent. A tear drops on her cheek...
She wipes it off, closes her eyes, and whispers - gently, lovingly, longingly - 'My mother...'
I always cry like a baby right here. So very intense, so very beautiful. http://matousmileys.free.fr/tr12.gif
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLBn9KK2Ss0
The movie is heart wrenching. It leaves me a complete wreck. 'Will I be in paradise (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-VvDjRg4nA&feature=related) tonight?' http://matousmileys.free.fr/tr35.gif
A true masterpiece of cinema. almost a different art form from what film is nowadays. Black and white, silent - the technique makes the art. German expressionism meets French avant-garde. The movie is a wonder to behold, or so I would notice were I to concentrate on the externality of it, and not the emotional internality. I willingly submit, and let my soul be tormented by the haunting imagery.
Maria Falconetti was already 35 when she played the 19 year old Jeanne. It take experience of life perhaps to give such a hauntingly beautiful performance. To add to the wonder, she has played in one single movie only, giving one of the greatest movie performances ever.
* Such lovely history. Jeanne distuingishes between 'France', and 'her land'. (Unforgivably incorrectly translated as 'my village' - missing the entire point, and fundamentally misunderstanding the attachment to the local land of the Frenchman throughout history, regarded as different from France. A subject we recently had a discussion about in the 'Was Napoléon French?' thread in the Monastery

All of you are so bleak....excluding Louis who seems to like lesbians who destroy property....More is destroyed in those brief scenes than property! For one thing, the truth. Why that should matter, you shall have to see for yourself in the movie, lest I spoil the plot!

I cannot pick a scene in these two movies I love every minute of them naturally given my handle.

watch the journo at the end he is already writing the myth as Clint deals the lead.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW-jSa9_k3M
great opener one of the best in a western
I wish I had the eloquence to write the piece these films deserve but unfortunately alas it doesn't suit me soul so I let the movie do the talking.
I scouted for the opener of 2001 space oddessey but the original with nothing but black screen is nowhere to be found on youtube imagine Kubrick at the meeting "hey I wanna make a film where the opener goes on for ages and the people will think summits wrong with the film".

An here is my guilty pleasure section whoops that sounds a bit dodge anyway Steven Seagal I mean come on it's the same rubbish film for what 10-15yrs and it just gets more cheezy as time goes on delicio :laugh4: tis is a compilation of concentrated Seagal so be careful no need for plot or even continuity or even a scene here there all the same.:laugh4::laugh4:

From Leon, one of my favourite films ever!
I can't believe US moral hysteria kept this scene from reaching the audience. Specially since without it, you dont understand a lot of the other scenes properly.
