I'm not sure that many exist, and wouldn't know how to find them. The backroom is pretty decent, but being on a strategy game fan site is a bit random.

Very many thanks for spending a glimpse of your time and intellect to help me.
Sasaki Kojiro, For any scandinavian speaker there is Flashback Forum...
Are you not sure many forums like this exist? Havent logged on much since '95?
I am pretty sure that there are quite soem forums like this on the internet...
I could share Utopias, but that game died, and so did its political forum :(
You must understand, I didnt ask this here in the hope of there being a forum... I did it because I know we have many great minds here, and some of them are bound to have some good links to further a debate. I could spend 10 years looking around for forums, or we (could all) have a 10ish or so year experience of the people who choose to come here. Afterall, if they keep coming here, there is likely something about the other forums they visit that I would like :)
I'm all about The Pony (http://www.mlparena.com/Forums.html), sucka.

Jesus. 44838 threads and 787062 posts just in one subforum about My Little Ponies. What could they be talking about?
Anyway, the only other forums I look at regularly are bimmerpost (http://www.bimmerpost.com/) and the Axis History Forum (http://forum.axishistory.com/), both of which have off topic areas for political discussions which I avoid, as they are pretty weak compared to the level of discourse at the .org. Pretty much every forum has an off topic section where people bicker over politics, but I've never come across one with as much depth as the backroom. Maybe forums specifically dedicated to politics are better, but I've never visited one.
I know that http://www.principiadiscordia.com/ used to be twice or three times the size, around 5 years ago. Looks like it has shrunk a lot since then.
But I have an active dislike for forums which are too big. On the otherhand, the forum is nice, small and cozy.

I've tried looking for such a site as well, but never really found anything. Either they tend to be too specialised, or not active enough, or not of such a quality as here.

That pony forum was quite funny, I liked this in the banned members section
fizzy_rainbowfriend was banned today. She is a well known troll. She impersonates members and moderators of this site and others. She likes to email but mostly sends IM. She swears and makes physical threats. She lives in Pennysylvania and goes by different versions of the above name. She also says her favorite ponies are Fizzy, Firefly and likes Megan.
She may be a troll that makes physical threats but also her favourites are fizzy, firefly and megan!
I haven't looked about all that much only been to the off topic section of twc as well, don't think I have even looked anywhere else, comments sections of different papers mainly...

That's where the pony law gets laid down (http://www.mlparena.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=102230.html), mutha. Like this: "DeathSentencePony was not allowed to register today." Or this: "We have banned a member called 'TheDC' who is from Brazil. We received information that this person is interested in our younger members, in a very unhealthy way."

We should all make accounts on that pony forum, and then post all kinds of crazy Backroom topics. I think they organised something like that over at the TWC once...

That is called a forum war (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Forum%20war).
I have plenty of fun at the Off-Topic sub-forum in Paradox Interactive's forums. It is awesome there.

Other gems:
Chief denied someone membership tonight. This name was a no go.

Gee, did they think that name would be ok? lol
And the best thread I have found so far: LINK (http://www.mlparena.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=235726.html)
Basicly, a girl complaining she gets bullied on da netz cause... wait for it.... wait for it... She likes marilyn manson AND twilight... Someone had the NERVE to inform her that she was one of those brainless goths who would follow any trend that marilyn manson himself hates.
The community of course rally behind her, and there are just soooooo many group hugs going on. STAY TUNED!!
And if we do forum war, I want it noted from THIS POINT that I claim the name "Edward_the_Pony"... Ya know, getting the best from twilight AND my little pony...
Can you imagine if the warriors of totalwar.org were defeated by the mylittlepony community. :laugh4:
Only too easily, my friend, only too easily. Them MLP chicks would roll us up like a carpet.
As long as we're all entranced by the My Little Pony forum subculture, I'm increasingly thinking this internet classic wasn't a photoshop job: (warning, contains some profanity)
So I guess I got kicked off another my little pony forum (http://robotmantheblog.com/2006/10/25/so-i-guess-i-got-kicked-off-another-my-little-pony-forum/)
Favorite line: "I don't know where you get your facts. The first generation of MLP's were made by Hasbro, not the Khmer Rouge."

Another classic:
"Specifically we don't use swear words here, and your picture of Stalin riding a Year3 Limited Edition Starflower inside a German concentration camp was both upsetting and historically inaccurate."
Lemur, you left off the best bit from your quote. "And Hasbro hasn't made toys out of human skulls since the 1960's."

"Specifically we don't use swear words here, and your picture of Stalin riding a Year3 Limited Edition Starflower inside a German concentration camp was both upsetting and historically inaccurate."This the greatst single sentence I've ever read on the internet.
I should post a laughing smiley, but it transcends that. I can only bow in reverence.
I want to see this avatar of Stalin riding a year3 limited edition starflower in a concentration camp.

Reading the MLP thread on the death of Ronnie James Dio (http://www.mlparena.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=236541.html) was surreal, to say the least. The avatars and siggies are just, wow.
I would pay good money to see 4chan vs MLP.

That had me laughing for a while, one of the all time great lines of the internet... this whole discussion has been hysterical, I haven't got a clue where to go for intelligent conversation but I do know where to go for a cheap laugh now

Not to be funny, but those bodies don't even look real. They look as realistic as one of those dumbies where you practise BLS on. They are all plastic/waxy, devoid of any details.
Also, the picture is poor quality, it is like a 8year old slapped it together, it isn't that difficult to make a picture that looks half-decent, it would probably take me 5 minutes to create one which would blow that one out of the water.

Don't look up some of the concentration camp video footage and pictures shot by the allies. It may put this picture in a less comfortable pespective.
I am going to play the ignorance card.
I've cried from laughing.
I did the same. There's just something about My Little Pony culture that tickles my funnybone 'till it hurts.
Actual tears streaming down my cheeks. And a wheezy, desperate laugh.

I get so tired of american morals.
Edit: morals.
I get highly turned on by that vid. Have this moral dilemma as to weather wake my girlfriend up or not... If I do at this time, I would have to explain what made me wake her for a night****.
You should keep your beastiality tendencies to yourself.

Well, since the thread has decidedly lost its purpose:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8799394994175312139#
While I agree the quote is funny, and the picture almost made me laugh, I don't find that bit about the bodies funny at all.
Saying the bodies aren't real is completely ignoring all the details and that the picture was made in the 1940ies as well as what was done to them.
These were real people treated in a way that made them look and die like that, the humour of that escapes me...even if they weren't real...

The "over kill" so to say, of the joke, is what make it fun in the first place.

I got that but just looking at them and thinking who they may have been and what they have gone through takes away anything funny from the picture...
I'm not afraid to laugh at it, I do not want to laugh at it.

After reading so much (way too much) talk about the My Little Pony Forum, It leads me to beleive that some of you want to belong to said forum, may belong to said forum (for you have been quoted :) ), or secretly harbor a childlike fascination with the My Little Pony Forum and/or your own collection there of. Not me man! (Gaily gazing at my dusty collection of GI Joes out of the corner of my eye...)
I'm actually a little curious as to what the discussion is like in the Slaughterhouse II and MLP All Boys Club sub-fora. Not curious enough to sign on, make a few mandatory posts, and ask permission to enter those fora, but still curious. The potential unintentional comedy rating is pretty high.
