View Full Version : Uninstallation problems

I haven't been able to play VI in ages, because the last time I had to uninstall it, something went wrong and it can't be installed again. I've deleted every scrap of the game I can from the PC that I can find, but when i put the disc in, the game insists it's still there and there is no option to install it. If I try to play it, obviously it doesn't come on and every time I click uninstall the startup menu simply goes off.
So what can I do to resolve this problem? How do I go about purging whatever remnants of this game are left from my system so I can reinstall it?
All help is appreciated.

The problem is that there are still entries for the game in your registry. Go to you start menu and then run. Type in regedit then click ok. This will allow to delete all the Total War entries in you registry. Just don't delete anything that you are not sure of.

Thank you for the help.
I've done what you suggested. Unsure precisely what I was looking for I typed 'medieval' into find and I was able to find several things with that keyword in, I've deleted everything I can find which has that keyword then I ran VI and nothing seems to have changed. I assume I'm doing something wrong, I'm not sure other than values which have words in I recognise what to look for. The list is vast and there's all kind of things to look through without knowing if I'm looking in the right place or not.

If you go the window uninstall program list does MTW show up, or is that where you were trying to uninstall it before?
