View Full Version : Question on Command Experience
Hello,
I new to this forum (1st time posting) but I use this forum quite a lot for hint and tips on my Eb game. I love the game anyway (I addicted!!) and I being playing EB for quite a while now (1 to 3 months now). So now I have some question on the command experience (green, blooded and etc etc...).
I seen a post on the house rule for roman, saying that only a veteran general can command an army. I was wanted to try out this house rule but I stated wondering about this command experience stuff. Do you get Command experience only from commanding an army or can you get it by sending a family member, who is not the main general, into battle?
Hiya, welcome to the org... I'm the bestest member on the EB forums (except for Ludens) and I am the sole ruler of the EB people (except for Ludens) I am the only mod (except for Ludens) and I am allpowerful here (except for Ludens)
Regarding your question my little grasshopper
Command ability is gained through the Trait system and the "Life Traits" such as Sharp/Charismatic/Vigorous (my traits... and Luden's ones). Experience, on the other hand, is gained by fighting enemies on battle, "Veteranism" as I made my slaves (except Ludens... because he isn't my slave) is gained by how many battles are won, Green is for no battles fought, Blooded is for a fight in at least 1 battle, Veteran is for fighting 30 battles (?), Grizzled is for fighting 60 battles (?). Command is gained by how many battles are *won* and the "quality" (sort of speak) of the victory (Close, Average, Good(?), Great(?), Heroic), and of course the "Life Traits" present.
Any FM (Family Member) that isn't a general in those battles, has (I Believe) less percentage of the command that the General has (?)

Thanks for the post and explain it to me.
Now one more question. To get a general who "green" to a "veteran", the general need to get into a battle (right? correct me if I am wrong). So do the general who is "green" needs to be in command of the army or just participate in the battle with the general in command to gain "blooded" and beyond?
I think it requires him to lead a battle first. A simple one against slaves or rebels will do.

So what you are saying is that the "green" general need to be the one in command of a battle to become blooded and 30+ battle to become veteran, am I correct?
One time where it can this be said to the priest "“At twenty, I had already lost all the people I loved.”[33] so they are not some but not all entirely was all of them
I don't understand this statement....

Yes. The trait engine apparently cannot detect anyone but the commander taking part in a battle, so the experience trait does not increase when a family member participates in a battle but does not lead.
I've removed Hroth's spammy messages/
Alright, thanks for clearing the command experience stuff.

Thanks for that too....

Just one addition:
Your FM doesn't need 30+ battles for the Veteran-trait. After one battle he is blooded, after 5 battles he is veteran, after 9 battles he is grizzeled and after 20 battles he has seen the elephant. (you can also read this in the trait description)

Only 5 battles for veteran? Then that good. I thought I will need to make new general to command 30 battle to get veteran....
