You don't have enough graphics cards. :P
Will it run Crysis?
More importantly, will it run MTW?

lol, it will have two 2GB cards before two long, as i will need it for eyefinity.
slight stability problem right now in that it freezes if i run Prime95, but seems ok other than that.
Looks like plenty of graphic card for a single screen to this lemur. First hexa-core rig I've heard about in the wild, too. Congrats!

Then you need updating, Louis. I mean c'mon cell phones the size of a mini-fridge were quite fashionable in the eighties...

But does it have cool blue/red/green lighting inside and a see thru panel?
Seriously, I'm jealous. Hopefully this summer I can swing a new rig. Enjoy your new toy Furunculus.

she's a beaut!
just survived a hour long torture test with Prime95, Heaven and Steam downloading all at once, while overclocked to 3.6GHz, on a hot day (28c)
she got above 43c, and was solid as a rock:

reused the mouse and keyboard from the old PC. :p which is now going to become mum's new GTA/Fallout3 machine.
the photo also shows the May picture from my polish girls and coffins calendar!:balloon2:
Congratulations on your monolithic overkill, I guess...

Your mom plays GTA and Fallout 3?
Congratulations for the rig!

She played hundreds of hours of Oblivion, so i'm guessing she'll like Fallout3 too.
Likewise with GTA4, her favourite pasttime in Roadrash back in the Sega Megadrive days was chain-whipping police of their motorbikes as she sped past.
I put Portal on there too.
Cheers, I am contemplating buying a second 2GB 5870 card atm, trying hard ..........to.......... resist!

I have two dell 24" screens (3 if you include the one downstairs on my Media PC), so i need one more 24" screen for eyefinity. :)
Do you host sleepovers, Furunculus?

OMG Roadrash!!! I miss that game! Dumb as it was, I loved those low quality videos showing off hot chicks around super fast motorcycles.

a second 2GB 5870 VaporX card turned up at work this morning, all i need is the third monitor now. :D
i now have nearly 6 T/flops of computing power, nearly as much as IBM's Asci White supercomputer from 2000!
OMG Roadrash!!! I miss that game!
I played that game on a 3DO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3DO_Interactive_Multiplayer). Yup, I'm an old, old man, and I miss Road Rash too. Don't quite understand how they messed up that franchise. I guess the GTA series is the indirect heir of its gameplay, aesthetic and attitude.

Ditto, that game ruled. :2thumbsup:

i am so looking forward to playing Armed Assault 2 with three screens, i might even get TrackIR 5 to go with it.
that this is possible makes PC gaming truly awesome, that i have the tech necessary is even better. :)
haven't installed the second card yet, got drunk last night instead. birthday celebration for a friend you understand.
but i shall report back on events of awesome portent, fear not.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he spots the dual monitors. His pulse quickens, he begins to sweat as he realizes this is exactly the same thing he did at work.*

I just bought my second gts 250 for sli to play arma........ I have been making my decisions based on Arma II as well.

well, i had to send back the second card, not enough space between the PCIe slots, so i turned the PC off when the fan on my suffocated first 5870 reached jet-turbine speeds. but i sincerely hope that a single 2GB 5870 can run three screens in AA2 - Operation Arrowhead, otherwise i might cry.

Bah, I know a guy who makes do with 8 MB integrated video on his motherboard. Also, you seem to lack space for data; I haven't heard much about SSD, but 128 GB doesn't seem like enough. Since you're already buying the most expensive hardware known to enthusiasts, why not pay the extra $1000 for a 512 GB? Which, I might add, you can buy like 10 TB of the regular stuff for?
EDIT: Why not DDR3 1800 or DDR3 2000?

It's plenty. I imagine that Furunculus has a number of external harddisks anyway.

i do have a terabyte drive in my old PC, as well as a mirror drive on my media pc, where all my media is stored, but these are full, so i am waiting for 2TB drives to become more affordable.
don't use SSD's for storing media, very expensive waste of limited capacity.

my policy to date has worked pretty well.
1TB on the games PC in my bedroom
1TB on the media PC in the lounge
1TB external to trasnfer between the two, and take that data elswhere.
never lost any data, but quite an expensive solution.
soon to be replaced with 2TB drives.

That keyboard is the only thing that needs replacing. I dont think i could live without my Saitek Eclipse or my logitech g5 mouse. Which is ironic since both of those died like 2 months ago and now im using some crappy keyboard and a new 90$ mouse. I still want my G5 though...

yeah, agreed, but one of these should in fact arrive today:

one really cheap way to run run eyefinity is to buy three second hand 19" 1280x1024 monitors.
although they are anti-widescreen in themselves, three would make an awesome widescreen experience, and you can pick up high-quality Dell 1905FP monitors with DVI and thin Bezels for around £70. also not too taxing on the video card because its only trying to push 3840x1024 rather than 5760x1200.
So, when are you inviting me around, Furunculus?

how quickly can you get a train ticket to the land where men are men and sheep are wary?

I live near the train station, so quite quickly. The trip to Wales? Depends, 2-3 hours. I know Liverpool is about an hour.

Are you going to get Cliffs of Dover when it comes out at the end of the month?
What kind of flightstick are you using?
