My (first!) niece, Grace Elizabeth Adams, was born at 4:23 this afternoon (May 30th), weighing in at 7 lbs., 5 oz.

Congrats! Lacking quite the responsibility of Dad means you should be able to be a shiny influence while getting to focus a bit more on the fun aspects of life. Like the proper use of muwahid foot soldiers. ~D

You do have to change the diaper at least once, so that 15 years from now you can embarrass her at Thanksgiving by reminding her.

Uncle-dom is right next to Grampa-dom in terms of coolness. Congratulations.

Thanks all! I finally got a chance to go up and see my niece (and the proud parents, of course) this past Sunday & Monday. Will see about putting up pictures if I can figure out how.

Man, she is just ridiculously adorable; I fell in love with her the instant my sister-in-law placed her in my arms. I spent an hour just holding her while she slept; it was pure bliss. I suspect I'm going to be the best (worst?) uncle ever in terms of spoiling her.... :smitten:
