hi all.
i play as roman, and i conquered IPSOS. later on, a seleukid army put ipsos under siege. i have a large army into the town and i decided to break the siege and call for a battle.
BUT, when i call the battle (select the army into the town, put the sword over the besieging seleukid army and pressi the button), it just makes the noise of the clash, but the battle simply does not start. i tried over and over, but it remains like it is.

i don't know if it is a but, a technical 'something' , or if it comes form other tactical situations on the board. (no other armies involved in the hood).

The fixes for 1.2 all installed?
I'll assume you have at least one FM engaged? Possibly some traits interfere, use auto_win attacker to resolve it your way, release some of your troops to reflect (possible) casualties. If it is repeatable, meaning other battles, post again!

xsamatan, thanks for the quick answer!
yes i have installed the 1.2 fixes.
what you mean with 'FM engaged'?
auto_win attacker trick, i don't know how it works.... can you redirect me to it?
thanks again

If there's a FM in your city, he may perhaps have some traits, that limit his movement so much, he cannot even sally forth to attack

the auto_win is a cheat, that works as follows.

pres the button under ESC and left of 1 on your keyboard,
an console shoud pop up
write inside : auto_win attacker (if you are attacking), and when you will click on auto-resolve you will win even if you are 1:1000.

But i guess your problem should be with the FM not being able to move, so this advice won't help you

but... if the problem is the FM, what should i do with him? i don't even have an assassin to terminate him (and i guess it is a bit too drastic).

Usually this traits dissapear. If it's winter (or summer) the Family Member may have so traits, that limit his movement. Also they same if his sick, injured... If those combine together, the FM can lose 100% of his movement points.

Just try waiting a turn or so

hi anubis, hi xsamatan,.
thank you a lot. in fact it was that the FM ruling the town had the character ' winter campaign', that stopped him from attacking. now all is clear, right, and we go forward to conquer and rule the world!
