First, sorry for my English, I'm Hungarian.

I'm working on my mod (SZTW) and at the moment I'm doing the buildings. To test how it works, i've just re-exported an existing building model (ungrouped the item file, exported it as CAS and then deleted it). On the battle map it looks like this:

:dizzy2:
please, help!!! :help::help::help::help::help:

Sorry for writing so late, because I've had this solution since July, but I forgot this thread even exists.

So I HAVE A SOLUTION!

Dunno why (?) but the script imports the files with black vertex colours, that's why the building appears black on the battle map.
To fix this, select every verts in your model then in the editable mesh (or poly) modifier scroll down to the surface properties and set the vert colours to white.

Yay!!

Hey I have had this problem for OVER A YEAR. With a building, and again it shows up with some trees I put in the battlemap,
So I was happy with Cocacola's answer, but it didn't work for me :( Put all vertex colours of all verts to white, but it did nothing.

No idea...

WTF?

Make sure you did everything. It works ok for me, for each building. I haven't tried trees yet, but they are buildings in fact, aren't they?

Yes I thought so too, except for one fact that they use Alpha Channel, but thats it. (Some Buildings do to)

Cocacola'97, I have checked everything again, and also when I Import the .Cas file back into 3dsmax, the Sprites Are white, so that is good now, but it still shows black ingame :(

If you're talking about alpa, could you tell me how to make alpha transparent for buildings? It's automatically transparent for units, but for buildings the 0% opaque parts of the texture appear as black.

Never added it myself, but as far as I know you have to add some kind of an Alpha Layer to your texture in Adobe Photoshop, don't know more because I didn't make these trees :)

I have alpha layer in photoshop, I meant something in 3ds max to make these alpha parts transparent.

Don't need it, I imported a tree texture with Alpha Layer in 3dsmax, put it on a building and the Alpha parts became transparent automatically ingame

Thanks!

Perhaps I have something... What version of Verci's CAS I/E do you have?

Oh not sure, how can I check that?

It's in the file name of the script (eg. CAS_IE_0.79b.ms)
