View Full Version : Europa barbarorum 2 release date/month/year
Spartan that says "NI!"

Hi!
I accidently started playing EB a month ago and I can only say this:
Europa Barbarorum is the road to AWE!
EB(and it's team) is by far the best thing that happened to gaming since Amulets and armor!
Now I've googled EB2 a lot and im very impressed, now im only asking that the release month/quartal/year!!! be revealed so I can reorganize my free time in order to be able to isolate myself from real life for a while(a campaign or two) with minimal damage to my education and social life(I like to pretend that I have one).
Thanks in advance!

It's done when it's done... Seriusly, WTH?!?
also, how can you accidentaly start playing EB? Was it a plane-crash?

I would say welcome.. But as you can see from anubis' reaction, posting a thread demanding a release date (instead of reading the FAQ) so that your highness can organize his free time, is not the best way to introduce yourself.
You only stumbeled upon EB very recently, so you should be able to cope for another two years or so.

Computer game release dates in general are pretty pointless. There's very little upside to them, and it's pretty impossible to nail down how long different stages of development will take.
As a fellow newcomer, welcome to the forums.
The EB team don't like to be asked about a release date, so it's best not to mention it.
Suffice to say, it'll be done when it's done.

I apologize to the Spartan

To meet such praise with that sort of bashfull behaviour is distasteful. It is angry, hatefull and not called for at all. Try to abide by common social norms.

I sincerely apologize for causing such a commotion.
Im not exactly forum/internet chatting active so I don't really know these norms of thread politeness.
I really didn't know that it is rude to ask for a release date/time.
P.S i did read the FAQ before writing this thread. . .
As for anubis:
By accident I meant being bored and checking my computer that was given to me as a present from a friend who was and is in a better financial situation.
You see, I was just going to format the disk but instead I ran into EB and thats the "accident"(not really an accident but it did happened accidently)
I again apologize for everything + for possible grammar errors.

And who are you to tell me about the common social norms? I said I was sorry, and explained my behavior. And nonetheles I did provide an answer, while your post is pure spam

You did nothing wrong, you didn't break any forum norm. The FAQ in question is two years old, and yours was a reasonable question. The poster of the angry reply should have acted differently.

There's little to gain in talking about social norms and stuff. These fora are usually way more civilized than other game fora, and I've actually seen Anubis give a very friendly welcome to another newbie another time. Let's leave it at that.
my suggestion to any poster, new or old, who has a question should first make use of the easy and functional search engine for the forum. Searching for "release date" in this forum will throw up many results all providing the same answer that was arrived here - "Its done when its done".
As for etiquette on the forums, I would propose that new posters should begin their life on a forum by posting in pre-existing threads. This will ease them into the voice and manner of a forum far easier than a new thread. Additionally, new posters should steer clear from posts that make demanding questions from the team (particularly ones that involve several question marks in a row) as it often is the case that such things have come up in the past.
Other than that, welcome to the forum.

Threads like this make me wonder what it is in you people that drives you to make stuff like this. Crazy. Amazing. Y'all taking some master pill? It's like an investigation where you can't find the motive for the murder. And don't say history, that's the common denominator!

welcome to the forumz. :beam:
as to your question: the rest have already answered.

then there are of course reasonable fears of a "rushed" product, if you do set a release date (*coughempcoughirecoughtocoughtalcoughwar*). every good product must take its time, to a fault.

Welcome to the forums!
It's done when it's done. Maybe this can ease the waiting (it will probably make it harder~D)

On the 1st night of the 1st season in the 433rd year of the 3rd era,
on the starry night when the nine planets alight,
and the blood moon rises in the east,
so shall EBII be released...
