So im still playin my seleucid campaign, keepin a close watch on the AI movement and i notice rome are pumping out Town watch and first legionary cohorts, the only problem with this is that its still only 217 bc. Its the first time this has happend. Im playing EB with BI, and rome has taken sardin, which iv never seen before. Whats the reason behind this radical reform? playing EB with Bi? Its completley skipped all the other reforms. Weird :s

They didn't skeep them. Romans have different reform triggers when they are AI.
I doubt their in Augustan age... I thought they were when i saw them spamming viliges, but they are available in the Marians... so look if they have other units as well
First Legionary Cohorts as OP said. I'm assuming those are Imperial, not Marian.

They are available during both periods. And I've never even seen AI Romans hit Polybian reforms nvm Marian or Imperial. My longest campaign was AS as well and it went to about 190.
simple explaination, if the SPQR AI go conquer all the whole western mediterranian, then it was possible, but when they just still sit down in italia....
@ Lionhard I am 99.99% sure that the AI Romani in your campaign have the Marian reforms. For the AI Romani to get the Marian reforms they only need 20 provinces, but for them to get the Augustan reforms they have the same condition as the human player, and i find it difficult to believe that the AI Romani has conquered 90 provinces.

No they need less. And no Augustus.
Still it never happens in EB, because roman armies suck in auto calc, so no chance for them to conquer more lands. Must be a glitch

I wonder if they stand more of a chance against the lustannos now they have the marian reform. Everytime lustan start to spread they own rome.
