I would like to throw in those awesome season tunes from stw, ones we hear while in map view, and listen to them in mtw while in map view. Is that possible?

I think I could rename stw tunes to say euro strat summer 1/2 or winter 1/2 but will they play if I name stw tunes say euro strat summer 3 and 4? IS there a file or something that tells which tunes to play while in map mode or is that hard coded in a game to if you're playing euro side, the euro strat tunes will play. In that case renaming stw tunes to euro strat will work I think.
Did anyone try that?

just rename the stw tunes and replace them in the proper MTW folder.
Moving this to the Dungeon so our experts can chime in.

On a somewhat similar note, is there any way to make an MTW terrain type out of the Shogun textures?

I'd be interested to know the answer to that also, as I was considering doing the same thing. Shogun tunes were definitely preferrable, esp. the battle ones. I wonder why the mongol ones weren't used in MTW? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

the real queston is: is there any way to make the music continually play instead of stopping 2 minutes into a battle. it's kind've weird to have this awesome music blaring as the battle is just getting started, then all you get is silence once the battle has really heated up.

As for the music I'm not sure how it works
but I think it's hardcoded to react to triggers http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
my opinion on this worth ignoring http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Yeah I want to hear that classic Mongol "grunting song" from The Mongol Invasion again http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Orda requested spears to be added to the mongol army. I did so (according to his specs) and made a bit of a 'mod' around it. You can download it in the MTW direct download section (http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/Mtw_Uploads/MTWupload/OrdasHorde.zip ). It is 590 k in size, adds 'new' units, a new stat, 3 extra sets of EarlyHighLate campaigns (can also be used online, includes all 20 faction playable), includes the option to use Mongol music and mongol commands (if you have a copy of STW WE/MI available), batfiles to setup, full rollback and managing.

Not much innovating or eye-blinding candy here, but nice to try anyway. And easy to get rid off if you don't like it.
