Installed Stainless Steel a few weeks ago - really enjoyed it. I played a couple of campaigns with no trouble.
Then I downloaded and installed Chivalry II: Sicilian Vespers. I installed the 3.3 and the hotfix -- had to wait to get the main part, 3.0, because of its size. But while I was waiting for that, I went ahead last night and played some vanilla Kingdoms for awhile, then switched back to Stainless Steel for a try as the Moors.
Everything went well for several turns, but when I went to attack the Sicilians in battle, it CTDed before I got to the battlemap.
Frustrated, I quit playing as the Moors and started another Stainless Steel campaign as the Turks.
Same deal: I can play *defensive* battles, but when I go to attack, I get the CTD.
I didn't know if it had something to do with my partial installation of Sicilian Vespers messing stuff up. So when my wife came home later that night with the Sicilian Vespers 3.0, I installed it to see if anything changed with Stainless Steel. No luck: still the problem with attacking.
So this morning I figured maybe Sicilian Vespers was overriding Stainless Steel (who knows - this may be the part where I'm an idiot.) So I just re-installed Stainless Steel, overwriting the previous installation.
Well, that made it worse. Now, I can't even *begin* a Stainless Steel campaign.
Any ideas what I should do? I'm thinking I should uninstall everything, including MTW and kingdoms, and then install it straight up from the ground again. I don't even particularly want Sicilian Vespers anymore -- I just want to play Stainless Steel again, the way it was for those first few weeks!!
