If it's the one I think it is I have it for 360. Yea it's ok sometimes I dont feel like getting too involved in a game and just want a short ten minutes this fills said criteria
I play Magic Workstation. It's free, and you can play with any cards you want up to date with the most recent editions.

Computer is about as expensive as the actual game despite it being all digital :/
But I love MTG used to play it all the time. Had this undefeatable pestilence deck. It got banned from this friday night magic place I used to goto.

I don't play the PC or 360 games, but I like the card game.
How much? See for yourself.

So how many cards you got there, skip?

IRL Upwards of 3000. About 15 card boxes full. Only 10 or so 60-75 card decks with one endurance deck that is all about "Search deck for X card of Y cost and put it into play tapped" (Its about 150 cards and 1/3rd of it is land.)

Well I bought 12 tournament decks off Amazon... that's 900... 2 fat packs... another 180... maybe 2 more tournament packs... 150 more... at least 6 deck decks, another 360... and a crapton of boosters. And I bout around 100-300 from a kid I knew in 6th grade. And some cool fat dude at the local nerd store gave me a GIGANTIC pile of commons and uncommons from Time Spiral.
Anywhere from 2000-4000. Probably around 3000.

edit: It's been pretty stagnant ever since 10th edition, because the nerd store closed. However, a new one opened up a couple months ago, and I'm gonna go check out their FNM hopefully this Friday, if I'm not playing Dragon Age, or haven't bought the new Transformers game.
edit edit: I forgot about the crapton of lands I got off of ebay. Probably another 200.
Let's just be on the safe side and say 4000 cards.

MTG was my second card game with Pokemon as my first.
MTG though holds a certain passion that no other game possibly could.

I went Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Magic.
I probably would have gotten more into the PTCG if they used more types... and Yu-gi-oh may have less rules than Magic, but it's 20x more confusing.

They do. Well, uhh...
I played a version of Yugioh called Duel Monsters Online for a few years - they allowed God cards, Seal of Orichalcos, Ancient Dragons, Exodia, etc.
Was pretty fun while it lasted.
My IRL deck of 500 picked cards was simply too unwieldy (and crappy) for IRL dueling.
I played pokemon cards when I was in primary school, gave them up when mum stopped buying them for me and told me to get them myself. That game was my first taste of gambling. How nostalgic.

No, that's what you do when you "battle" someone with pokemon cards. Both players pick a card that they want to put on the line and the winner takes the other person's card.

I put in my rare shiny charizard that I bought from the vending machine for 36 dollars.
Ok, I'll wager my ponyta.
We never bet cards, but we never really did it either. There was a month or two of Beyblades, but mostly we played actual sport...

What? We never had ante when I played... I remember prize cards, though. You'd get one every time you KO'd an opponent's Pokemon. Once your prize cards or their deck were gone you won.

Oh god no, only Planeswalkers! They aren't creatures at all, they're like another player but under your control. They can be attacked, and once per your turn, they can use one of their 3 abilities, which give or reduce their life total ("loyalty"), which is where the power/toughness is on a creature.
Creatures look like this:

Can you explain to me why that's 50 bucks? I mean, Jace I can sorta get, but he seems.... "meh". If you ask me. Unless there's some loophole where's he's allowed to use two abilities per turn, I don't see how you make him deck worthy. Especially since its not like white struggles for getting stuff off the board.

Thing is, he aint invincible. He just doesn't take damage. The second he turns into a creature, I can doom blade his sorry hide off the arena. Or path to exile.
And true, I'd still be psyched to get it- sorta like how I felt when I unpacked a foily lotus cobra near the height of their craze.

I think she's the best Planeswalker I have. I'll take a sexy chick who can do burn spells over a walking titan who wants everyone else to attack him any day of the week.

Its price skyrocketed for a bit as people salivated over the idea of playing baneslayer angel on third turn. Then people noticed that its ungodly easy to get rid of the snake, and its price fell down a tad, although its still nutty expensive.

Wow, I have a black card for 1 B that gives -1/-1 to all creatures. It'd be dead before turn 4.
Of course, that's assuming I'm playing a black deck... I think Green's the only color which has trouble with stuff like that though, since red is basically all damage, black is kill everything several times, white has nukes, and blue would kill it before it even got into play. But really, who plays mono green?

They actually got rid of manaburn a while ago. Not sure when, was before I picked it up. I know what you're referring to though. Problem is lack of auto trample and the fact that it can be killed by even the most meager of death touchers. Or can be exiled. Or kill spelled. Or hit by a lightning bolt. Creatures are fine and all, but putting the majority stock into a few big guys is generally a bad idea since creatures are so easy to get rid of, as a general rule. There's just a nutload of removal now, so really, the creatures with shroud are a big bonus.

M10. You're pretty new to Magic then, right?
Anyways, I have some (100 - 200) cards from the Odyssey-Legions block, when I played it with my friends with real life cards. Now, I just play it online with MWS, it's free, and you get to make your decks of all the cards you want and play when you want.
Ever since I came to MWS, I started playing Legacy, I enjoyed Mono-Green "Elfs!" Deck, then building up my deck, I switched over to White-Green Elfs deck.
Then I began playing standard with a Gold Red/White deck and I hit perfection and I tried a Mono-White Control Deck. It was amazing. I never had that much fun playing Magic. Then came rotation and for the first time I started sticking with a archetype, and eventually I built what I called "Felidar Control" for ZEN, and I got some pretty good results with it. Now I'm struggling due to Eldrazi and Jund which destroy my Control deck before I'm able to set up my board. Still I am trying to build a worthy Mono-White Control deck again.
We should definitely host a MWS tourney and play each others!

Well they have all those new fancypants auras with Totem Armor, and they're in the same block as each other right?
However, if you use it against a blue deck you're as good as screwed.

I freaking HATE the Eldrazi. A guy I played got a damn 8/8 with annihilator 2 on the field TURN 4, and all I had was a few lands and 3 slivers. Yes, that's right, he beat a freaking sliver deck basically turn 4. I didn't even have any good ones... the only one I bother to remember was a 1/1 with +1/+1 to all slivers. I guess the only counter to Eldrazi is counterspells with split second or giant burn spells. Or stuff even bigger.
And have you guys even seen that rare Eldrazi that can make more of those annoying little mana tokens? And can also do 20: you can now play all the Eldrazi you own outside the game for free. HOW THE HELL DO YOU BEAT THAT!?

Have fun. (http://www.wizards.com/global/images/magic/general/Linvala_Keeper_of_Silence.jpg) :)
EDIT: For instance, another screenie of a game I just played with my Mono-White Control. It has been having quite good results against uncommon archetypes, but once it faces the usual suspects, it folds like a deuce before a straight flush. My opponent conceded as I had managed to make the Emeria combo, and was going to start to fetch Admonition Angels and Emeria Angels from the graveyard.

Islandwalk or any terrainwalk isn't much of a problem around these parts. Path to Exile/Terminate quickly solves any of those problems. Then you have Maelstrom Pulse and any other Direct Damage instant/Sorcery. Spreading Seas is much more important to deny your opponent crucial lands (Such as Creature-Lands, Combo Lands, Multi-Color Lands), as well as drawing a card.

Right- the point was, slivers are just too slow to outrush eldrazi. Hence, you scrap any attempt to outrush it, and focus on control- by either being able to counter/bounce dangerous creatures, or kill/exile them.

Well, I run mono black, and don't really have many problems with Eldrazi. Doom blades, marsh casualties for the spawn, gatekeeper of malakir, urge to feed, tendrils of corruption, vampire nighthawk (deathtouch), along with some deathmarks for mono-green decks.
I'd advice against red, eldrazi are way too meaty. White could work too, blue would be less reliable, might work in combo, haven't tried it out much.
Although, my favorite 'ace in the hole' that I occasionally pull off is sanguine bond + blood tribute. Sanguine bond is just generally awesome because of tendrils. Blood tribute with a vampire on the field = instant win if they can't clear my field. If you don't know- blood tribute; opponent loses half their life, rounded up, if you tap untapped vampire, you gain that much. Sanguine bond- opponent loses life equal to life you gain. :laugh4:

To be honest... I would never, ever use that card. Its way too expensive, can only be played on your turn, and you can't target players with it. :/ All that card can do is kill things. White and black do that in a far more efficient manner. R/B, imo, ought to use black to kill creatures, red to kill players, and really shouldn't mess around with that formula too much. The only exception I would make would be something like suffer the past, and even then, I wouldn't use more than two.

1) True, but then you have to predict when they'll get one on the field, and besides, you may get "annihilated" once or twice still before you can get it off.
2) In 1v1, yeah, 5's a lot. Most games I play 1 v 1 are over by the 8th or 9th turn. Other things I can play for 5- Leliana (picking my next card), sanguine bond(absolutely devastating if you have any good life gain), malakir bloodwhich(more life gain/loss, immune to nasty white removal and doom blade). Again, its all relative- you could remove one eldrazi with five mana, or you could doom blade two eldrazi and still play a lightning bolt.
3) Right, but the previous point still stands- you can flat out remove eldrazi with black or white for much, much cheaper, and focus your red on more awesome things like comet storm or fireball.
4) :shifty:
