Shogun sprites

I know I posted this in the Sword Dojo, but I figured I'd try to get double coverage here as well. As of now, I'm unable to play Shogun Total War or Warlords edition. Not to mention, My computer will never be able to run medieval Total War any time soon. But what I wanted to know, is there a way to take the sprite maps of Shogun and turn them into animated gifs?

Since I can't play the game, I might as well tinker with the components. Thanks.
