The sound of a metal object hitting the cold concrete floor sends shivers through the building, to its very heart.<o:p></o:p>

Inside, a man stirs gently in his sleep. His office, at the center of this complex, has become his home. He is dedicated to his work, this man, and he is as sure of its relevance as his team of scientists is. Two members of the team have made the building their home as well.<o:p></o:p>

Elsewhere, a guard has dozed off in front of a wall of monitors. He is an older gentleman, "much too old for this :daisy:," one might imagine him saying. He and his team of men keep this facility protected 24/7, working and sleeping in shifts.<o:p></o:p>

In other rooms of the building are the subjects. Look inside, and you will see the faces of the damned. Though they are given the freedom to walk the halls during the day, albeit under heavy guard, at night they are locked in cages like rats, trapped in this terrible place. Experimented on and doped up until they believe that they are happy and here of their own free will.<o:p></o:p>

At night, in the hallway, two guards are patrolling the corridors, and come across the metal grate. I might imagine one of them would say, "Uh-oh," and the other might ask him, "What's going on?" All he would need to do would be to look to his right, to the door of my cell, to realize exactly what is going on.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
"Oh, :daisy:!", I can imagine him saying.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
"We need to do something," he might say, grabbing his radio to inform his superiors that there has been a breach in security.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
As the alert goes out and everyone is dragged from their rooms to the main meeting hall, I imagine them wondering what exactly it is that is going on at this hour. I imagine Dr. Meinhold's surprise when the head of patrols for the night rushes into his office and informs him of the situation.<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>
I imagine the look of terror on his face when he realizes just what this means for him.<o:p></o:p>

All of these thoughts swirl in my head, along with thoughts of revenge. A smirk runs across my face, and I need to control my laughter and breathing. I must remain calm and in control.<o:p></o:p>

I close my eyes.<o:p></o:p>

When I open them again, there is a bright light streaking through the darkness of the hallway. A shine is coming off of the metal grate on the floor, and a couple of men are conversing lightheartedly about the day's events and how bored they are.<o:p></o:p>

They stop in front of the grate.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
"Oh :daisy:!" one exclaims.<o:p></o:p>

I smirk once more and begin crawling through the ventilation system, towards the building's heart.<o:p></o:p>

"We need to do something!"<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
*Crackle*<o:p></o:p>

"Patrol one to head, patrol one to head. He's gone, he's :daisy:ing gone!"<o:p></o:p>

A groggy man with a booming voice comes through the other end, "Who is gone?"<o:p></o:p>

"Prisoner 0819, sir. His cell's empty."<o:p></o:p>

There's a pause – silence, probably shock – before a small button is pressed, and the night bursts into life.<o:p></o:p>

I cackle openly now, the sirens drowning out my laughs, as I crawl, hand over hand, towards that which I've dreamed of for years.<o:p></o:p>

I will emancipate the damned.<o:p></o:p>

I will liberate myself.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p> </o:p>
I will destroy any who try to thwart me, who stand as allies to my prison.<o:p></o:p>

And – most importantly – I will kill Dr. Meinhold. He will be obliterated. I will be victorious.<o:p></o:p>
