EB Online Team Battles (EBOTB) 2010 July

EB Online is a system for monthly tourneys as well as regular games between EB players. But today I tried this idea out and it's also nice. It's basically a mini-tourney using elimination system. It can start with Round of 8, 12, 16, or more. This example today was round of 8 and round 1 second battle still has to take place. The losers fight for 3rd place. Check out this month's bracket. Oh and these are large 2v2 battles with 36k rules, either civ or steppe. You may switch factions and ACs each battle, so you don't have to stick to one. This is separate and isolated form EBOT (EB Online Tournament) that occurs monthly, it occurs monthly side-by-side with EBOT. EBOT players may participate. Check out this month's bracket:

This system of team battles is very hard to manage as it is hard to coordinate a meeting of 4 specific players at any one point in time let alone 2 specific players. It is far easier to improvise; this is the manner in which virtually all team games are played online, from RTS's to FPS's, and so on and so forth.
