Right now I'm working on a Klibanophori mod, the Klibanophori is the elite of the elite of the Kataphraktoi, unlike the Kataphraktoi the Klibanophori employs the use of lance, axe and bow and a small shield.
It is also more heavily armoured than any cavalry existing - yes even heavier than the knights in the late period - since this is the case it is therefore much more slower than the Kataphraktoi.
Its compensation is the bow which means it can keep enemies at arm's length, if it is fortunate enough to get close into a melee than its greatest strength lies in its attack where the klibanophori uses an axe as an armour piercing melee weapon.
I have already done the easier detail of the Klib mod such as the crusader prod 11 file stuff , eg increasing the cost of Klib, increasing maintainence cost and buildings required, etc.
The hard part is the animation, I've
seen the Kataphraktoi fire arrows with a bow before and that was thru a mistake I made but since then I haven't been able to figure it out, I would also like help on animating the kataphraktoi using an axe in a melee.
If anyone could help me I would be most appreciative, I'm not after the credit for this so I will acknowledge openly those who contribute to this mod.
This mode is part of a bigger scheme, I'm also working on a mod that focuses on Middle Eastern warfare in the early period, this would entail making Crusades much more menacing towards Islamic towards but also counteracting the Crusade woth aggressively fanatical units. The Klibanophori wil be a new old element in this middle eastern warfare, it will be a while to train these tanks since the requirements are more demanding ofr the power they get. Parts fo the mod have been borrowed from other mods and they will duely credited for their excellent work.
