View Full Version : civil war screen shots
Hello just a few pic's of my test stratmap ,its all functioning fine but crashes when ever rebels or civil wars turn up.This could be because theres only 5 factions,70 provences & 5 sea regions http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif don't no realy but if any body might have an idea that would be useful. Anyway this campaign is of the english civil war (or based on it)I never have been historicly or politicaly correct. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://hometown.aol.co.uk/ISSY%20WHIZZY/00000069.gifhttp://hometown.aol.co.uk/ISSY%20WHIZZY/00000074.gif

have you tried running the map through wellintons Automatic LukMap & Script creator ??
have you made the bif images for the minimaps?
(from the screenshot it seems these don't exist yet?)
and i would love to see this when it is finished, it looks good from the screenshots.

The game locking up after a few turns can be of so many reasons. Think of reappearing factions which don't have the proper setting in the startpos file. Are you sure the other factions which you removed are removed completely? Maybe you could upload your startpos file?
I also noticed that you tried to mod the date to use "half weeks". I guess you would have to MOD so much stuf just to reflect the date on everything from creating units, taxing, building, etc. The year is 164200 but Im sure you are trying to MOD that as well. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

how in the name of stinky nutsacks did you cut the english provinces up?
Hello still in the photoshop stage with the minilukmaps but nearly there.I removed them to see if this was causing crashes, although I Think I've found the problem with the ctd's I'll upload the startpos if you wouldn't mind having a look thx M.E Also is there away to upload this whole campaign or is it to large http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
what you can do is upload it to the org in chunks (each under 2MB),
then i can "add" all the chunks together for everyone to download...
What about the tex map tga this is 25 mb when compressed, is there away to compress it even more http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
Thx M.G http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Mr Egg,
Can you please clarify HOW you got to this stage of your campaign? DID you use LukMapMaker for some parts? Did you draw the LukMap.lbm and LukMap2.lbm yourself?
I'm not trying to elicit credit - merely information, and your screens can me A LOT if you can confirm whether or not you used LMM (LukMapMaker) to create some parts.
I suspect you did'nt as the problems I've noticed in LMM's generation of the Script file would make it difficult for anyone to incorporate this Script file into MTW. Casn you please confirm this?
If you DID use LMM then the next version of LMM resolves these issues with the 4 'minimaps' and creates correct BIF's for all 4 'mini' type maps.
Hello Wellington
no these maps are from scratch but there still not complete
as you can see, still its only a test to see if it's possible and it is. Cheers M.E
Oh one more thing I only used luk map2 lbm & tex map2 tga this still works without the smaller lbm/tga. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Yes, found that out a while ago. Tested it and turned out that you don't need the small LBM/TGA if you have 192MB or more memory. If you have less, you will never use the LBM2/TGA2 files. No matter the resolution you use in the game.
http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Thanks I thought it was some kind of resolution thing but wasn't sure :)didn't no it was memory cheers.

Thx M.G :D
um,
yes - kinda,
BUT,
it's awkward (a little),
it will still be quite large - requiring cutting into blocks by winzip anyway,
and will take at least an hour to "process",
the best bet is get winzip to cut the file up and upload it,
trust me, overall that will be one heck of a lot quicker than "converting" to a patch file
(i'll do the patchfile conversions here - i have a spare machine (PII-300) soley for that sort of "slow" work...)
if you seriously want to go to all the hassle of compiling the patchfile let me know and i will post instructions.
cheers,
B.
Thanks B. I'll do that tomorrow http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
not having much luck how do you cut in to chunks http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
