Howdy all --

Hope this is an easy question for you experts out there. Somehow my game has been changed so that the names of all the captains, FMs, spies/diplomats/assassins, and admirals now show up on my campaign map below the individual or stack. It makes for a cluttered map, and I don't like it!

Since I don't know how this came to be, I don't know how to change it back...any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

You know the preferences file? You can find it in \Rome - Total War\EB\preferences. There's an option there that says something like "show character names" or something like that (can't check the actual wording since I'm not on my gaming computer right now). I'd bet that one says "TRUE". Change it to "FALSE" and that should do it.

Edit: It's possible it says "LABEL_CHARACTERS" or something like that.

It is also possble by using ctrl+(r/t, or similar, try and error) while being on campaign map.

CTRL+T is for settlements
CTRL+R is for characters.

Enjoy your game!

Thanks to everybody for your help!
Hax -- turns out CTRL+R did not work for characters -- through trial and error, I found the solution to be CTRL+N. CTRL+T works for settlements.
Back to my Makedonian campaign...thanks again!

Oh, I'm sorry, I should've checked (that's what you get for writing posts ten minutes before going to bed). Good to know you've found out.

Enjoy!
