I have done what I consider a minor mod ,(my first attempt) I activated the Swiss to be a playable faction assigned them two provinces besides Switzerland, Swabia and Tyrolia , Changed stats on some titles , added an agent (emissary) and everything seems to work just fine but some changes I noted like HRE had NO CASTLES on any of their provinces and their seems to be alot of Famine and rebellion I did not change any stats in these areas I think ? So anybody know what's up Thanks for your help in advance
check the file you altered in the startpos file, and scroll down towards the end their should be a line that looks like
make_building:::id_xxxxx castlezz
if it's not their add them, i can't remember the exact worsing, i'll check when i get home tonight..
the x is the provence name, the zz is a number 1-11 or something like that

to Jayrock I was beginning to think no one knew what the problem was ,thank you for your help it is greatly appreciated . http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
You may want to use the ".matteosartori." cheat code to see if all the units and buildings are present that should be there on the map.
If you mistakenly give a province a second castle in the startpos file, the game will stop placing buildings and units at the point in the file of the second castle.
I had this happen to me, and I like to have never figured it out.

To WesW yes I did use the 'Matteosartori' cheat so I can accurately keep notes on how my mod is working but still no castles and I only edited some province attributes i.e. Provincial income ,trade goods etc. for my mod but nothing directly connected to castles .I am still running my Swiss mod with no other apparent problems but this one has me stumped ? thanks for the tips TSOS http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I have read that the swiss have some hardcoded event thing
that can cause problems.But they don't sound like the problem http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
