Hey people. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Just thinking, http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif

I know of the WW2 'Rise of the 3rd Reich' mod. But would it be possible for a mod to be made, that has modern day units, such as the Royal Marines, and the reload time for the SA80s would be quicker, but say after 30 shots, they must stop for 5 secs to reload, you could probably keep the europe map, castles/strongholds would be a problem. But get a Challenger or an Abrams in there and the walls are gone.....

And for ships just change the image and name, eg..HMS Invincible would be available later and would be virtually indestructible. There would be weapon upgrades, e.g improved sights= increased range and accuracy, or Armor Piercing bullets mean, deadly weaponary. And for the troops, you could put them on a fitness training course and your troops gain, +1 honour and have improved stamina.

Dunno, about aircraft. 99.9% sure they wouldnt be possible, but you could have Paras, just on the ground. Also there could be campaigns, e.g if you select the British you could fight the falklands war. Or if you're the Americans, maybe Vietnam, or Panama,

There was actually a working American Civil War mod for STW a long time ago, but the guy who made it is long gone.
Anyhow, check the dungeon for advice on this.

A ww1 mod could be possible, but no trenches, planes or off-map arty. Back then they still used formations and the like. For tanks one could make a unit with one tank in it, make it extreamly expensive, give it +40 hp or something, a rapid-fire ranged attack for mgun and so on... the forts used were basicly the same as from the napoleonic era...

I would like to see a mod like this but it wont happen... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

(unless someone wants to prove me wrong, I wouldent mind http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )

it could be done but it would take alot of work
and all the animations would have to change.
This along with the amount of tinkering with
the stats would require some working out http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif

I don't think going past the
napoleonic american civil war
standing in line fighting type battles
is practical.

But then again I havn't tried http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
