*Bonus points if you can pick out Kukri in the floatilla.*I watched 'Into the Wild' yesterday. I am quite convinced Rainey, of that hippie couple, is Kukri. The role was played by a completely unknown actor.
All of life's wisdom, a moustache, and life as a hippie quest. I know it was Kurki and he's to modest to tell us.

And wut aren't you allowed to drink a beer on the beach :inquisitive:

On beaches, the likely side effect of drinking is drowning. Since this affects the person who'se decided to drink and not others then it's their life.
I imagine that many people can have a quiet beer in the shade and swim, or get rat arsed and not swim. Hell, people can eat on the beach and that can increase one's risk of drowning... should that be banned too?

Indeed, those floating German corpses makes the North-Sea stink. AND IT ARE ALWAYS GERMANS.
Germans, please refrain from swimming in the North-Sea,

And of course the Danish where they wash up. Every year tourists drown yes, it's counterintuitive, when you are pulled down you must swim down, if you fight it you are dead. Same when you are pulled into open sea, you will eventually be able to swim back if you swim paralel to the coast, but it's a scary experience and if you panic you are dead. Coast folks know this, tourists, and most are German, don't.

A floating bed in a stream isn't a very good idea, maybe we should hold an educational campaign in Germany?
Is there any question? People should be able to drink where ever they bloody well please.

Floating bed is safe it are the undercurrents, you can spot them by bodies of perfectly calm water. These currents are exactly there, it's very deceptive and people don't listen. So Germans, DO NOT SWIM IN THE NORTH-SEA

Reasonable consumption is not a problem at all. It is when people start leaving their bottles behind that it becomes a problem.

Everybody but especially Polish people please stop thinking you can go sea fishing of the west coast of Ireland.
Rock fishing is dangerous the reason is simple the Baltic is a SEA the Atlantic is an OCEAN.

So this has been handled in the standard American way, which is to ban drinking on the beach completely. Maybe instead of patrolling for illicit booze, the beach cops should just ticket people for littering. God forbid that an existing law gets enforced... ~

two beaches where i live, north beach and south beach.
north beach is the 'developed' waterfront and drinking isn't allowed.
south beach is the empty stretch behind the castle where there are no restrictions.
works for me.

Mainly Eastern Europeans keep getting swept off by huge waves and there is absolutely no hope of rescue, honestly fishing of the west coast on a rock in winter your asking for it.

That's not an issue with location, it's an issue with occupation. They do serve alcohol on planes after all, it's just a bad idea to drink it if you are flying the thing.
Can the authorites not simply ban the drinking of Bud Light?

....And people should be allowed the freedom to walk outside without running into drunk people everywhere they go.
It's a common sense thing to me. I wouldn't want a free-for all, but neither do I want a ban. Let's say 5 adults and 15 kids are having a picnic; if 5 drunken teenagers started drinking in their midst, I would not object to the police escorting them elsewhere, for example.

I've tasted that once. At a danish pub, after they ran out of beer(!). It shouldn't be criminalized.
It should be counted as a war crime.
Whatever the jews suffered at Auschwitz, I'm quite sure it doesn't compare.

That's a pretty serious drink....
On the topic of alcohol on that party, since most of the people are in the water it would seem that they're not going to go on land to throw their beer bottles away, while I generally agree drinking on the beach should be allowed, I don't agree with littering the seas with beer bottles and I think enforcing littering laws would be very hard, you cannot watch everybody all the time.

Don't forget Husar, don't swim in the North-Sea :laugh4:
Anyway, I have more problems with the cigarettes that are everywhere on the beaches than with beer bottles, it's so annoying stepping on cigarettes with bare-feet. They should ban smoking on the beach.

Those who drink it are beezelbubs minions.
let me sum it up by saying that horetore and i agree. HORETORE and i agree on something. that about sums up the worlds opinion on it.
Personally I find it pretty rediculous that Americans are allowed to have an opinion on beer. Corona isn't really beer as it was made of corn, but it isn't thad bad. What is bad are typical 'THIS IS MY LIFE' New York types that drink it, yes these people absolutely deserve what Horetore hinted at.

You aren't missing much. If you want to drink something which tastes bad, makes you feel dehydrated, awful in the morning and be stupidifed for hours on end...
You might ask "Why do people drink it then?", it is because ignorance is bliss, thus they enjoy being stupidified for hours on end.

Depends on personal taste. I hate most beer and wine, but I like the taste of drinks like rum and whiskey. Occasionally I like to get blind drunk, but what I like more is just having a few and getting that happy buzz. There are a LOT of drinkers however who just get the cheapest horse piss they can and drown their sorrows.

There are quite a few good American beers. Regrettably, most of them are surrounded by a sea of bud, mich, pbr and other such wastes of grain and yeast.
Considering I think one should be able to light up a joint on the beach ( which will happen after Prop 19 passes in Nov - that's another story) , I have no probably with consuming alcohol. To solve this problem all SD has to do is assign more beach police, and enforce the littering and public drunkenness laws.
