how do you make a completely new unit that is recognized as valid by the MTW game engine? As an example, i would like to try something like this?
Warrior Saint (resembles Kensai) For Orthodox and Catholic Factions.
1 man unit, Takes 4 years to train, building requirements include Cathedral, Reliquary, Military academy and Master Swordsmith.
Excellent Attack (12 attack rating)
Irresistble Charge (15 charge rating)
Excellent Defense (12 defense rating)
Very fast Speed (15 charge speed)
Armed with a sword or mace
Looks like highland clansmen for Catholics and a Napatha thrower for the byzantines.

Grab GnomesUnitEditor and load up crusadersunitprod_11 and look around its pretty self-explanatory from there. Then save it in the MTW file.

Swords if you unzip the Medieval - Total War.zip
into your Total War folder it will work.
it was compiled to follow the file structure.
If you have other mods installed this may cause a
problem http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
I made a post here the other day that explains more or less
what's involved I'll try and find it for you.
Then we can take it from there if i forgot something.
