Have any of you guys evver watched the shows Engineering an Empire or Decisive Battles?
Some of the episodes in each take place during the eb time frame.:2thumbsup:
The first one has the episodes about carthage, rome, alexander, persia, etc. that are good. For those of you that have seen it, have you noticed that in the episode of Engineering an Empire 'The Persians' that it has some eb music about 5 minutes into the episode? I thought that was an awesome coincidence.
Even though the latter show uses R:TW its still a nice show. Despite that, it has alot of battles that are during the eb time frame, like carrhae, cannae, cynoscephalae, teutoberg forest, pharsalus, spartacus, and boudicca.

I looked those up on the Netflix "films like this one" feature, and found some more that look promising:
"Last Stand of the 300"
"Rome: Rise and Fall of an Empire" (4 DVDs)
"Troy: Unearthing the Legend" (2 DVDs)
"Beyond the Movie: Troy"
"Beyond the Movie: Alexander"
In fact, just plugging search terms like "Alexander", "Rome", and "Hannibal" into Netflix brings up enough to keep your queue full for a while :)

Time Commanders was another show that featured a prototype RTW-based simulation. By "Even though" are you implying that RTW was not a wise choice by the producers? It is the only such game (hybrid turn-based strategy and real-time tactics) that is set in antiquity.

No. I just mean that compared to EB units, the rtw ones are crappy.
There used to be good shows, but know the only thing you'll see is a shouting muscle cuirass dude wielding two kopis :S

I like how people refer to the time period spanning the Roman Republic as the 'EB period'.
