My question is: is the number of units appearing in crusades hardcoded? If not, how is it modified?

We all know about how weak crusades generally are, so I was trying to mod the unit_prod11 file, in order to make them stronger and more useful for the AI factions. I was changin the AI build probabilities in the "rebelling troop mixes" column (column 11) because I wanted more order foot, crusader knights and footknights, royal knights, etc. to be part of the crusades to make them stronger (e.g. I added "CRUSADE(-15)" to the feudal footknight entry in column11 so that feudal footknights would have an increased probability of appearing in a crusade).

The new units now appear at random in crusades, o.k. but ONLY 2 OR 3 of them http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

Is there any way to increase the number of units appearing? The units that appear seems to be governed by the build probabilities, but is the number appearing hardcoded? Changing the 2 or three units that appear is useless because the crusade will still bog down as it's "good" units are slowly depleted due to attrition as it moves across the map.

BTW: Of course, I could only check to see what units appear in the crusades I build as the player. Do the AI crusades get different or more units than the player? Is the number of units appearing affected by changes in the rebelling troop mix? Is it possible to change this?

*bump* I really would like someone to comment on whether it is possible to increase the number of units appearing in crusades.

I find that adding a crusade build value to the rebelling troop mixes makes the AI build that unit for crusades, but I still can't figure out how to control how many units appear. When I build the crusade as a player, it only has 2 or 3 units, but when the AI crusades appear, there are a lot more units. But, I'm not sure if this is the AI putting units from that province or elsewhere into the crusade, or if they appear with the crusade.
