Game Rules and Information:
You will tell me where to go, and what to do.
I will keep track of your inventory and health.
You might need to engage in combat. If so, tell me what to do beforehand.
If you need to enter commands during battle, there may be a delay and you may take damage or die.
You are allowed to discuss with the spectators and get ideas for what to do.
You are allowed to resign and allow someone else to pick up from where you left off.
You are granted three chances to win the game. If you die three times, you're done.
When you enter a room I will describe it to you. However, you may not be aware of everything that is in the room.
You can examine objects, walls, floors, or ceilings.
If you try to solve the game by examining everything, bad things will happen.
Objective: Get through the game without dying, or with as few deaths as possible.
Secondary Objective: Get through the game with as few players as the Prisoner as possible.
Participants:
Game Moderator: Me. I'll be participating by designing the game, keeping track of everything, and telling you what happens. Like a dungeon master.
The Prisoner: This is the currently active player. You are given three chances to escape. If you fail, it is game over for you.
Spectators: (who may take over for the current Prisoner if he dies)
The first Prisoner will be determined by random.org from the first 5 people to sign up who wish to be a prisoner, rather than a spectator.
You can sign up just to be a spectator, if you wish.
Additional spectators will be given a chance to play as well, beyond their role as an adviser.
This is a test game. Because I have never hosted a game like this before, I'd like to work out the kinks before I do a real game with more levels, items, puzzles, and players. Feedback is welcome, because I may have to adjust the difficulty. Let's get things started!

Just to be clear this game will be quite different from Snakes and Foxes; nothing like it in fact, if I am not mistaken.
Think of it more like one of those text-based adventure games. Except instead of an annoying computer that doesn't accept any word besides "quaff" for drink, I am still semi-human and your words will usually compute.

You don't have a compass, so you don't know which way is north for sure, but for the purposes of your own spatial orientation, you assume that your cell is in the northwest corner of the room.
There is no food or water in your cell. You feel weak. You have not seen the guard for some time.
There is a door in the southeast corner of your cell, but it is locked.
You can only see out of the east side of your cell, as the south side is blocked by a wall.
There is a desk just outside your cell to the east.
What do you do?

Examine the cell bars. Perhaps there is a weakness to it. Same goes for the door.
Alternatively we can try calling a guard's attention by making a lot of ruckus. But we may not exactly want to do that

Out the east side of the cell you see the desk is within reach, and there's a pile of guard uniforms on the desk. There's nothing else on the desk.

The cell door is locked and very sturdy. It cannot be broken by force, but it does not appear jammed.

Attempt to bend the wire hangers into a sort of straight wire for lock picking purposes, then bend an additional section doubled over itself to serve as a torque bar for said lock-picking mechanism.

After some struggle, you realize that you cannot pick the lock this way; the locking mechanism is too heavy and it bends the wire hangers rather than work as intended. You do note however that the wire hangers can be bent and extended in this fashion rather easily...

Bend the wires and extend them to a suitable length by which you can reach the desk drawers and possibly pull them open.
You extend the wire hangers and create a hook.... this particular mechanism is not long enough to reach the desk drawers, but it otherwise allows you to reach things you were unable to reach before.

The southern wall sounds different from the western wall. The west wall is very solid concrete, but the south wall sounds flimsy and thin... different. You do note that it is outside of your cell bars, so you can't really bash it down.

Your arms fit through the cell bars, but there isn't enough space to swing your arm hard enough to disturb the wall. You hit the wall with your fist, and hurt your hand on a sharp object.
You use the wire hanger to attempt to poke a hole in the wall, but it fails. You are able to reach the wall easily.

You examine the south wall, just outside your cell.
It appears to be a flimsy wall added after the initial construction. There appear to be nails on the other side of it, some long enough to just barely poke through to this side. That is what hurt your hand.
The nails are arranged in a horizontal row, about head high. There are approximately 10 bumps or exposed nails that you can tell have been nailed into the side of the wall you cannot see. You cannot pull them through to this side or work them out to the other side. The row of nails goes all the way to the east side of the wall.

Spectating (Not joining):
Is the sustained injury grave enough to benefit from a bandaging? If so, you could fashion one out of a part of the spare uniform. Otherwise, locking yourself out will probably be the best idea. I can't imagine you'll need the uniforms later, and they're sort of unhandy to carry around, but you might want the hangers for another purpose later. Remember to check the drawers on the desk once you're out, and attempt to find a weapon before leaving the room. A baton would be good.

You successfully open the cell door. Outside of your 10 foot by 10 foot cell, you find yourself in the larger 20 by 20 room.
The room is rather bare, except for the guard's desk which you grabbed the uniform from. Because there's no need to carry a stack of uniforms, and you're wearing one, you leave the other uniforms in your cell.
There is a door located in the northeast corner of the room. This room is otherwise bare, and will be referred to for easy reference as "Cell A"

The door is a solid form with no particular design. It looks just like a standard mass-produced prison door with no windows or bars. The door handle is long and metal, and turns easily.

The door opens to reveal a long hallway, 10 feet by 35 feet. There are four standard doorways on the north east, south east, north west, and south west corners of the hall way. On the far south end of the hallway, there is a large double door.
You are in the northwest doorway, one of the four standard doorways, connecting Cell A from the hall.

The room is nearly identical to Cell A, except the prison cell is in the northeast corner of the room, and the desk is located on the south end of the room. The cell door also is on the southern end of the 10 foot by 10 foot cell.
There appears to be a lighter located on the Guard's Desk.

You grab the lighter, and note that it is full of fluid. When you enter a room that is too dark to see, you will consume one unit of lighter fluid. You will also use one unit of lighter fluid whenever you "examine" while inside a room that is too dark to see. If the lighter fluid runs out, you will have to stumble around in the darkness.
You open the desk drawers and there is nothing inside.

Open the desk drawers, run through the same thing as I did for the cell B room.

The lock is on there good and tight, leaving very little space between the locking mechanism and the drawer itself. It does not budge. And you also note that the keyhole has the key inserted and broken off. There will be no way to open the lock by key....
You attempt to open the cell door, and this one is also locked tight and does not open with your cell key. You can't get inside. You look around and there are no keys in sight.

Repeat the same searching procedure.
You exit the room and cross the hall, and enter the southwest door. The room, hereafter referred to as "Cell C" looks very similar to Cell D, with the east-west directions reversed.
There is a desk in the northwest corner of the room, with a lamp on it that is bolted down to the desk. The lamp works, and the bulb shines brightly when you turn it on.
There is also a cell, with a dented door. The door is not locked, and it gives slightly when you press on it.

The dent is around the locking mechanism of the door, and is probably why the door is not locked.
Examine the desk.
The desk is empty, including the drawers, except for the lamp, which is bolted down.
If possible take the lamp and bulb and then exit the room after taking anything of value.
The lamp is bolted down, but you can unscrew the the light bulb and take it with you, and so you do. It unscrews easily.
You exit the room. You're back in the hallway.

Afterwards enter whichever one sounds less dangerous. If neither are enter the west one first, if both are, enter neither.

You enter the dark room. It is 40 feet by 20 feet, with the long side north-south. You can see a large generator in the center of the room, and a panel in the wall near the generator. The Generator takes up much of the space on the southern half of the room, blocking access to the rest of it. On the northeast end of the room is a large puddle. Because the room is so dark, you will need to examine things more closely to learn more about it.
Note that you are now using lighter fluid.

The panel seems to be a junction box, containing several large thick cables. there are two cables which are ripped apart, and are no longer able to touch each other. One cable leads through the wall and into the hallway, and the other cable leads to the generator. You have not touched the cables yet.

The corpse is lying on the ground, bloody and lifeless. The corpse has no head, it seems to have been torn from his body. The corpse is wearing clothes that would seem to indicate that he is a cook or a chef, as it is stained with grease and food particles. He's also wearing a pair of gloves, which are covered in blood.

Re-enter the generator room, turn the light on to get my bearings, then extinguish it once I know where the puddle is.
It is in the northeast corner of the room, roughly 10 feet wide. You use the lighter to determine its boundary, and then shut it off.
Move myself slowly through the darkness to the puddle and smell it, attempting to detect what exactly it is. Do not touch it, except for with the gloves if necessary.
The puddle smells like nothing in particular. No smell of gas or other fumes.
You don't know exactly what it is, in the dark.
Once concluded what it is, or not, back away from the puddle slowly, and turn the light on again.
You back away and switch your lighter back on. You can see that there is a black cable running from one side of the puddle to the other, held against the wall by metal bands that are bolted firmly down. However, the rubber casing of the cable has worn out, and the cable is severed once it reaches the puddle. Then it continues along the other wall, with similar worn out rubber and exposed metallic ends.
The puddle seems to be formed in the floor, which seems unfinished in this room, or worn down somehow. At the center of the puddle is an object that you cannot see at this distance. It is submerged in the puddle.

You use the lighter to see better. There doesn't seem to be anything inside the cell, other than a cot for sleeping on. But you can't see much else from this angle. If you were closer, you'd be able to see if there's anything under the cot.

You jam the steel bolt in between the lock and the desk, and then deliver a powerful swing, breaking the lock!
In the process, you bent the steel bolt, rendering it pretty much useless, and the rusty hammer actually shatters in your hand. Good thing it only took one swing.
Inside the desk drawer, you locate a key.

If you're referring to the flimsy wall where the cell key came from, in Cell A, then no. What was on the other side of the wall was 10 feet of open space in the room. I had considered making that wall just a pegboard, but then it would have been too easy to figure out. The opaqueness of the wall is what made escaping from Cell A a challenge.
See? You're not the only one who can double A.
As for super powers, none besides Split's dashing good looks.

There are four shelves located on the southern end of the room filled with items, approximately 20 by 40 feet. There is a desk near where you're standing on the north end of the room. The room is too dark to see much else. There's also a light switch on the wall near you.

Inch my way over to the desk, and examine it. Keeping an eye for anything else illuminated by my torch.
You slowly move toward the desk, with your lighter switched on, aware of the odd, almost suffocating odor. You lean over the desk, and examine it.... you see a table lamp, which is not switched on. The bulb seems to be broken. A spark from your lighter drifts down and lands on the ground, which is slick with some kind of liquid. It ignites instantly, filling the entire room with a powerful blast of white hot flame. You panic, and slip on the slick ground, and end up rolling around in the burning fluid. Unable to put out the flames, you get up and begin running to escape the room. You drop to the floor outside and try to put out the flames, but your clothes are still soaked in the burning chemical. You can't put out the flame and you scream as the flames continue to envelop you.

Without the lighter switched on, you cannot see. However you stumble around in the darkness and feel the desk with your hands. You note that there is a lamp on this desk, and the light bulb seems to be burnt out.
You can't feel anything else on the desk.

You successfully replace the bulb, and then walk back over to the light switch and turn it on. The room is now illuminated.
You can see that there are a bunch of overturned drums of some kind of flammable liquid in the southern end of the room, which you could not see before. You also see that there are four shelves in the south end of the room. The shelves are marked "Evidence 1", "Evidence 2", "Evidence 3", and "Evidence 4".
Do you keep the broken bulb?

Evidence shelf 2 contains three more boxes containing file folders, and several smashed jars.
Evidence shelf 4 contains animal cages that seem to have been chewed open, and what seem to be bloody bone fragments.

It strikes me as most likely that we are the fourth patient. If the second patient really did hid a weapon, a logical conclusion would be that it is hidden in the cell opposite the one we started in.
It might be a waste of time, though.
My hypotheses:
-The subject who talks about the Nodes is actually saying something important that we won't be able to figure out until we have a lot more info. His speech is most definitely one of the pieces to the puzzle, but we have to find the rest of the pieces.
-The subject with the gun busted his cell door and escaped, then killed the chef in the hallway who was delivering his food/drugs. Then, somehow, he escaped... likely before the generator's wires were broken or else he couldn't have gotten through that door.
-He's probably dangerous and will attempt to kill Split if he meets him.
-Whatever was in the eggs that the third subject laid were placed in the cages and then chewed their way out. Which means they are probably still here somewhere.
-And if the horrible smell in this room is not the gasoline on the floor, then it's probably those things. We should check on that real soon.
-Also, if they somehow got out of the room they could've been what chewed through the wires on the control panel.
-Either way, I believe we're gonna have to deal with some creepy critters soon. Better find a weapon.

You attempt to do so, but the rusty hammer is shattered in many pieces. Nothing of consequence happens when you beat the hot wire hanger with the pieces of the hammer.
Try getting out of that room, for one. I'm still concerned you may be ambushed by nasty bug-monsters.

All cells have been visited and searched. Everything in Hallway North has been visited. Hallway South has been visited. The Evidence room has been searched thoroughly. The Generator Room has been visited.
Presently, if you've been keeping up with the game, you'll notice that the current obstacles in your way include the door in the Hallway South with the keypad, which seems to have no power. But there may or may not be other things undiscovered.
