O.k, so I set out to make a killing machine unit, for the english. Basically in a scale of 1 of him facing 2000 men, hed take at least 900 enemy men with him, o.k so I've done it after a few cock ups and restarting of MTW. After seeing LOTR: The Two Towers for the third time http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif , I named the unit Aragorn. O.k so it works but for some reason it said this.

Note: I overwrite the Gallowglass unit to make Aragorn

( Aragorn_Plural) Cannot_translate

Or somethin along those lines http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Can anyone help http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

I believe that what Kaastop is saying is that whenever you add a unit you have to edit the names.txt file in the Loc folder to include it. Units must have both singular and plural names. If you don't do this, the unit simply won't appear, but the campaign should be otherwise o.k. However, the error message you report sounds like something else. No idea what.

It will, it just wont have it's name translated that's
all.

The game is reading the name from the prod11
itonly looks to the names file for a onscreen
translation. If it can't find one it will show this
translation.

So if you wanted a unit called
( Aragorn_Plural) Cannot_translate
then that would be ok as it is http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
