Great story, well fought, but don't try to tell me you don't use save-loads when you recount a series of flawless ninja assasinations. I have used many ninjas in my many campaigns, and never could I imagine that the same 2 ninja:

#1 Killed the ronin general in the castle
#2 Killed the takeda emissary
#3 Killed one Musashi general
#4 Killed the other Musashi general
#5 Killed Uesegi emissary
#6 Killed Hojo emissary
#7 Killed Hojo general (rank 1)

(ninja now said to be honor 4, which is 8 kills without fail, yet as you can see I only count seven, and these seven shared by two ninjas, not one)

#8 Killed Shimosa general
#9 Hitachi general (rank 2)

All this is the first 13 turns with no lost ninjas, and a 8-kill ninja by before turn 12?

I don't believe in UFOs either http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif .

Well if you go after trhe right atrgets you can do it. Like getting the emissaries first and then the H0 generals. I dont think that Maltz has really got any high ranking kills. yet.

about the ninja issue:

Indeed I was surprised too - yet this time, I got a better luck than I used to have save-loads before! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/redface.gif

Sometimes you fail even if the success rate is 83%.

Besides the first kill of the rank -1 general which was 50%, this time I never tried anything less than 66% success rate. Yet I admit I was very lucky in the Ninja issue. I didn't attempt to kill enemy daimyos or heirs - if I succeed again I will feel very guilty http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

Actually when I was preparing for the snapshot of pressing F2, I was praying for them to fail this time - or the people in sword dojo will start to doubt my honesty! Yet they suceeded, again and again! (and I cannot break my promise of no-save-loads to make them fail this time) You will see in my chapt 4 I never use them anymore. (Pretty sad for a lengendary ninja, huh? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif)

p.s. About that rank 4 ninja.. It was strange -- after the first kill of the general in Owari (1930 Summer), it suddenly jumped to H3!!! I didn't bring out this as it was not really in the story, but maybe we can talk about the possible senarios for this to happen.

By the way, to make a rank 4 you really don't need 8 kills. The higher the rank you kill, the faster your promotion is seems. (Maybe I am wrong) Also, I didn't mention all of my sucessful kills if they are not really related to the story. For example, I remember that I knocked out one or two extra Hojo rank 0 general using that H3 ninja without mentioning... http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
