I amended the novgorod faction (gave them scotland [took away novgorod], changed their name to the scots, and made them a major faction).
Problems-more probs-when I click the scots the game loads and the red bar fills up---but then the game exits and returns to the desktop. when I decide to play as any other faction in my mod and I click the scottish castle or army the game freezes. Also, the game freezes when I try to play one turn.

Al,
if you could keep to the one thread it would help.
At the moment about four scottish mod threads
are on the go.Not only does it help to keep the forum
tidy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif but it helps the people that are trying to
aid you to keep track also.
Thank's

P.S. you want to change {the string only}
NOT [the label]
[NOVOGRAD] stays the same
{NOVOGRAD} changes to SCOCLAND.
Read the Itroductions and note
of the files you are editing
They explain this very well
Just change the stringes and leave the labels alone.
This will work. It is the only way to make new factions
while the game is hardcoded.

// iii) The data is organized as follows
//
// ["this is a label"]
// {"This is the translation"}
//
// ["This is another label"]
// {"This is another translation"}
The label is the coded data
and the translation is what you see
on the screen.
A translation is a string.
It is the data between these {}
and the label is the data between these []
Like I said before
Read the Itroductions and notes

Do you wish to know how long the string is? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
