Well, after trying and failing to install EB with the patch, all fixes and Alexander.exe (the stupid thing giving a kooky error message upon start-up), I uninstalled everything and reinstalled RTW, its patches, Alexander and EB 1.1... I then fired up EB 1.1 to check wether at least that was working...

It wasn't... And indeed, as the title of the thread says, trying to start EB 1.1 just starts up regular Rome: Total War... My levels of frustration are now approaching critical levels and frankly, this mod's tooth-and-nail resistance to being installed is starting to hang a big question mark over whether I can ever play this mod again after having uninstalled it the first time...

Oh and by the wait, ValidateInstall doesn't work for me... I open the batch file and the .txt file does not show up anywhere...

I do remember that I answered in you other thread...however:

Modify the shortcut target. Move the end quote from the end of the line to directly after RomeTW.exe and it should work (goes for both the new shortcuts in 1.2). For instance, instead of "C:\My games\RomeEB\RomeTW.exe -mod:eb -show_err -ne" it should be "C:\My games\RomeEB\RomeTW.exe" -mod:eb -show_err -ne.

Hi,

I have had the same issue but the shortcut that you mention is not the same as the one that I have. C:\MOD\EBTrivialScript\EBTrivialScript.exe -s ebconfig.xml -runeb -type "Single Player".
What do I do?
Please help.

Welcome to the forum!

The EB-FAQ (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=84854) and the Frequent Encountered Issues (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=103681) are booth worth a read.

You misread and edited the wrong shortcut. You'll have to search for the one that points to Rome-TW.exe, if you don't find it you can create a new and edit according to the info provided.
