Yes you keep already built units but you cannot retrain them ever again and cannot build more Camillian units again. You will need to upgrade your barracks in order to use the new units. If all your barracks were already at a high level this can take up to 15 turns until you can build your new factional units. Keep this in mind if you are in a heavy war and might need units soon.

As far as I know only the factional MIC is changed therefore regionals should be identical to before.

 Only the factional MICs are affected.

I am not sure what you mean here. My campaign is at 180BC and I still have both old Camillian barracks and updated Polybian barracks. My Camillian barracks retrain old units and build new ones.

Odd, I am almost 100% certain that the camillian barracks upgrades (as in the same way a temple upgrades, etc.) into the next level polybian version. Unless in EB1.2 the script places the new MIC now and I have been confused by an older system. I do know that for the marian reforms you need to make the new barracks and the old camillian one is damaged 100% by the script every turn so its unusable, but thats a totally unrelated thing to this.

Maybe you could post a screenshot? I am interested and a bit confused.

I think he means that barracks that aren't upgraded, still produce and retrain camillian units, as you said. They aren't destroyed, as happens with the Marian reform.

I think we may have missunderstood each other, as Taedius said. All barracks I upgraded since after the Polybian reform produce only polybian units, while all un-upgraded barracks (in other towns and cities) produce only Camillian units.

I read your original message as saying that after the reform all un-upgraded barracks are immediately useless and one has to upgrade them to build any units. But you probably referred to upgraded barracks not being able to build Camilian units?

Yes, thats right. I mistook what you said and thought that you had BOTH sets of barracks in the same city (impossible of course). It must have been a slow moment for me, need more sleep =)
