Are we still able to play the original game somehow? What are some of the completed mods? Where can I find them? What is modding? What's the meaning of life? Why do diplomats gesture at my cities every turn and nothing happens? Please, God, help me?!Im clueless!!?!?!?!:help::embarassed:

Wow, you really are confused. Okay, one thing at a time.

Guys, I'm new. My second post. I'm clueless. For God's sake, what is modding?

Simply put, modifying different elements of the game, like unit appearances or stats for instance.

Do you edit game files? How do you do it?

Yes, you edit different values in the game files. You need the pak extractor to extract them, depending on which game you are using.

Are we still able to play the original game somehow?

Yes, for Rome there is a modswitch command, for Medieval2 there are modfolders and ETW/NTW you will need the ModManager. In the case of STW1/MTW1 you need a different installation for each mod.

What are some of the completed mods? Where can I find them?

Most are found at twcenter.net . Go to the forums and look up the game you're interested in having a mod for and check its "modifications" subforum. One such mod is my mod, seen in my signature and you can see others in that forum as well.

What is modding?

You already asked that.

What's the meaning of life?

There isn't one.

Why do diplomats gesture at my cities every turn and nothing happens?

They are trying to, but unsuccessfully, bribe your generals.

Please, God, help me?!Im clueless!!?!?!?!

Indeed.

yes, you can generally trust me when I say something twice. i dont know what modfolders are but id kinda be nice if i knew. and lets say I downloaded a mod, or a patch, how do i know which part of the gamfiles i need to copy it to? i want a patch my game but the presence of that question stops me. i understand your job is not dealing with noobs but id appreciate another answer. and thanks for your previous ones.
