...love rodeo, no ?

Oh well, it's 05.30 a.m. here and for the last hour I've been watching highlights of some American rodeo contest -for the first time in my life, stuck in front of the TV. Sorry, I got no idea about the title of the competition (BFTS maybe ?), but this is one of the most entertaining sports I've ever seen.

Anybody into that and would like to tell me a bit about it in general such as the rules, the scene, the great riders and bulls etc. ?

Is it just bull riding, or bull riding plus bronco riding plus steer wrestling plus calf roping?

Bull riding by itself has been getting airplay here, under the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) sanctioned events. I don't follow it closely, but it's a pretty cool 8 seconds.

Rodeos are pretty fun to attend, too, actually a good place to meet women and find afterparties.

What kind of rodeo? Bulls? Horses?

Oh and if they wear a flak jacket an/or helmet just shut off the TV. Those are most likely yankees or Californians and therefore not real cowboys

Bulls.

Some got the equipment you've described while some had ordinary wear, it was mixed.

Basics of Bull riding are pretty simple. You have one rope to hold onto, and can hold onto it with only one hand and whatever leg pressure you can maintain. Stay on the Bull for 8 seconds. Points are increased for good form (other hand up, relatively smooth motion) Bulls with a reputation for throwing cowboys can generate better scores for the cowboys who ride them successfully.

All in all, fun to watch indeed.
