Unable to start the battle

This problem appeared today in the middle of my new Epeiros campaign. Whether it is on campaign or custom battle, progression bar doesn't stop progressing, but continues to the end of the screen (as a black line, same width as the original green bar), and the game gets stuck where it is without entering the battle. I've waited some twenty minutes, just out of interest. Had to press ctrl-alt-delete just to gain partial access to my desktop, which was semi-visible, flashing just enough to see where Rome- total war icon was in the taskbar, so i could press C for "close", and then E for "end program".

Any ideas or remedies?

Any upgrades/changes in your graphical system? Any recently changed files in your Eb build?

Load vanilla and see if it has the same problem!

Haven't touched anything in EB or vanilla files. Unfortunately, same thing happens in vanilla. I will reinstall the entire game from scratch, and see what happens. Anyway, thanks for the patience to read trough bunch of problems usually caused by our incompetence or bad machines!
